Beth would eventually grow bored after waiting for any sign of the human for over an hour. She assumed he had fled, making her angry for having waited in vain.

One option was to surface and obtain the object by killing the human, but she would risk him being accompanied and could be attacked. While she could heal her own wounds, there had been times when her life had been endangered by them too.

She turned around and began swimming back to the cave, intending to shake off the bad mood by playing with her pets.

However, she heard something fall into the water, seeing out of the corner of her eye a black ball slowly descending downward, and upon hitting a rock underwater, it would split open, revealing another golden ball inside.

Beth quickly turned to go after it, excited to see that someone had dropped something so precious in front of her eyes.

The group of mafiosos, who were monitoring from a black van on the lakeshore, were waiting to see the legendary sea monster with their own eyes.

The plan was as follows: The boy they had brought was inside that golden ball. It was a ball about two meters in diameter, so he could fit inside without any problem. He was hidden inside with his diving suit, keeping his hand close to the button on his arm in order to activate the electric field of the suit, provided by the mafia, as soon as the sea monster took the ball.

It was rumored that any golden or highly valuable object, if left in the sanctuary of a legendary beast, would surely be picked up by it.

And they would seize that opportunity to intercept it.

For his part, the boy inside the golden ball was more nervous than he had ever been.

On the outside, the golden ball seemed like a simple golden ball, but on the inside, the boy could see everything around him. He watched as the legendary beast drew closer, breathing somewhat heavily out of fear of being devoured if it opened the ball before he could do anything.

Sweat ran down his face, and he tried to inhale and exhale constantly to calm himself. The pressure underwater also made him feel suffocated, and he wasn't fond of being enclosed. But he knew that as soon as he electrocuted the legendary beast, the mafia would open the golden ball he was in from the van, and he could swim to the surface.

And he would be free.

"................"

The boy paused for a moment, watching as the legendary beast got closer and closer.

And as if he were about to die, he began to remember how he had come to this point.

He was still young, only 16 years old, but he had been abducted while walking the streets of his city. Currently, he didn't even know where he was. The mafia group constantly used him to commit robberies, undertake risky actions, and venture into treasure hunts. And now, to kill a legendary beast.

According to what he had been taught in school, the three legendary beasts were primordial beings that used to watch over the protection of humanity and all living beings, but after humans started wars amongst themselves, these beasts moved further away from humanity and lived their lives separately, leaving their descendants, which are said to still exist to this day.

And now, he had the beast in front of him, holding the golden ball with a big smile, shaking it from side to side. But the boy only reacted late, and before he could press the button out of fright, he started being shaken from all sides, hitting his head against one of the walls, falling unconscious.

In his head, he had a camera through which the mafia could see everything the boy had in front of him. They saw that the beast was real, being amazed.

But seeing that the boy didn't respond to their calls or even activate the electric field, they saw everything shaking in the camera.

Then, they saw the beast take the ball in its paws, swimming against the current towards some tunnels.

The subordinates of the group began to grumble, wishing death upon the boy for having failed in his mission, but the boss silenced them.

"This... is better. This dumb beast will lead us to its lair, and we can spy on and study it, and devise a better plan. So, not all is lost."

The group listened with interest to the boss's words, approaching to see on the screen where the route of the legendary beast was. Soon, they could finish off the legendary beast and plunder all its treasures.

So they watched, recording the route on screen to analyze it later.

They would track it down, and then they would kill it.
