Seated in the shade of the cave, the two animals inspected the human who had arrived.
They looked at each other and nodded.
"He came out of a golden ball."
"And he's almost naked."
Both came to the same conclusion.
"He's another idiot."
Something so random that had happened before their eyes only led them to that conclusion, as they truly had no idea how a human could have been inside one, not even the puppy who previously was one.
They spent the afternoon inspecting the human from top to bottom, while he tried his best to find something to keep warm in the cave's cold.
Both the puppy and the squirrel had no problem with their fur, the angel felt nothing for not even being alive, and Beth was accustomed to the climate of the place.
Tenma was curious about where the human had come from, and although he tried to communicate with him through barking, he didn't seem to understand anything.
So he used one of his abilities to analyze the man's statistics.
[Name: George]
[HP: 40/50]
Although something strange appeared next to his health bar. An icon with lines symbolizing a breeze.
[HP: 39/50]
And that was reducing the boy's life.
He glanced for a moment at the great sea monster, who was still lying in the sun that came from the entrance of the well above her. Most likely, she didn't know much about how human body heat worked.
"This human needs some kind of clothing or he'll end up dying from the cold," he commented to Beth after approaching the edge of the cave.
Honestly, he didn't want to see another human die in front of him, let alone see him get sick and possibly infect them with something dangerous.
Beth thought for a moment and nodded, diving back into the water.
Tenma waited a moment for her to leave, then turned to bark at the boy.
It was time to execute his plan.
If he could get the boy to go into the water and retrieve that golden box, then he could use the amulet to open it, and possibly find something useful.
He approached the boy, who was sitting gathering the objects left by the sea monster, but he noticed a problem.
The boy was wearing the amulet as a necklace.
He turned to look at the puppy and smiled.
"What do you think? Looks good on me, doesn't it?" The puppy just looked at him with a furious gaze. The boy simply looked back at him and sighed. "Yeah... you're right, I need to find a way to get us out of here instead of just distracting myself."
With that, the boy got up, causing the puppy to wag his tail at the sound.
Much easier than he thought it would be. If he could get the boy to help him from the beginning with his own motivation, then maybe he could make him understand his instructions much faster.
Quickly, he approached him and tried to point to the box in the lake, moving his ears and paws toward it. But the boy didn't understand, shivering again.
He sat at the edge of the cave and slowly put his feet in the water, then started swimming. Tenma smiled excitedly, barking to make him understand that he should listen, but the boy seemed to be playing.
"You said you'd find a way out," the puppy said, sighing. Still, the human wouldn't understand. But suddenly, he saw that the boy was actually getting used to swimming in the water, eventually swimming properly.
Tenma barked with joy, but slipped on the water on the cave floor, causing him to fall into the lake.
The boy went into alert mode, diving to rescue the puppy, but he, underwater, was sinking deeper and deeper.
He just followed the puppy, confused, and saw that it was leading him to a golden box. But before he could reach it, he ran out of breath, passing out underwater.
He reached out and managed to grab the puppy, holding it against his body and swimming to the surface, leaving it in the cave.
The squirrel would approach both of them and quickly perform CPR on the puppy, causing it to spit out the water.
It was part of Tenma's plan. He knew the human could rescue him by seeing his initiative, so he led him to where the golden box was.
It only remained for the boy to go for the box out of sheer curiosity. Any human would be interested in obtaining something so valuable.
And so it happened, the boy managed to get the golden box, and as soon as he left it on the surface, he noticed the strange eye that suddenly opened, startling him.
The boy stepped back, confused and alarmed, falling into the water; fortunately, he knew how to swim.
Now, the only problem was that the boy had the amulet around his neck.
He had to make him insert it into the box's lock somehow.
Before Beth noticed.
