I quickly changed into my regular clothes and waited for my dad to pick me up. Char had already left so it was me and Austyn. "Hey, do you mind if I came over and hung out?" Austyn said. "Sure. We haven't done that in a while." I said smiling. At that moment, my dad pulled into the school parking lot. Austyn and I got in. "Hey, Strewer." my dad said. "Sup Mista Huntington." Austyn said. That's how they always greeted each other. "So, do you need a ride home?" he asked tapping on the steering wheel. "I was actually on my way home with you two, if you don't mind." Austyn said. "Not a problem, I'm ordering Chinese take-out, if you don't mind." he said. "All food is good food." Austyn said. "So how was soccer practice, Autty?" my dad said. "It went well, my first time and Coach said I'm good." I told him. "Good, I'm glad you joined the team. Any boy news?" he asked as we neared our house. "Autty has a boy going all googly for her." Austyn blurted. "Oh really?" my dad said. "Austyn!!!" I said turning red. "Who is he?" my dad asked. "His name is Cody Tanner." I said. "Oh, sounds like a hottie." my dad joked, pulling into the driveway.
When we got in, I tossed my bag to the side and flopped on the sofa along with Austyn. "Want anything to drink?" my dad asked. "Gatorade please." Austyn said. He threw a small yellow Gatorade at her and she caught it. "Mr. H, I got soccer and football skills." Austyn said. "I'm impressed." he said chuckling, he picked up the phone and dialed for take-out. "Your dad is still awesome." Austyn said. "Sure is. Speaking of, how's your dad?" I asked. "He's good. He's still in therapy." Austyn said. Her father had fell off a roof and servely injured his spine and legs so he's learning to walk again. "Good. How's Ray?" I asked. Ray was her little brother. "Still annoying." she said chugging down the Gatorade. I turned on the t.v. and put on Twilight. "Oh god." Austyn said. "Come on, you know you love it." I said. For some reason, I felt like my mom was right beside me, snuggled up. I wiped away my tears. "I'm sorry." Austyn said pulling me into a hug. Just then the doorbell rang. I got up and paid for the food. "Time to pig out!" Austyn said. We enjoyed our Lo mein and read our fortune cookies. Austyn's said "A great fortune will come your way." Hm, wonder what that meant. Mine said "Looks can be deceiving." Austyn and I shrugged and continued eating. At 7:15, Austyn said goodbye and left. She lived a few houses down which was convenient, we had sleepovers a lot.
"Alright, I think it's time to go to bed," my dad said at 12:30 am. I was on the couch just finished Breaking Dawn Part 2. "You're right. Night daddy." I said giving him a kiss and running upstairs to bed. I couldn't sleep well, not after reading that fortune teller. It was fake, but part of me said it was real...
