Tyler's pov
Last night with nika was actually a lot of fun but she's a distraction and you can't be getting distracted with new friends
In practice you were off you game and the team could tell Paige kept staring at you and nika asking you if you were okay but you avoided all of the questions
You were open and Paige passed the ball to you and you totally missed your shot
"BOSS YOU CAN'T BE MISSING THOSE SHOTS WHEN YOUR OPEN" Geno yells point with his hands toward you
Dammit you knew you were gonna mess up your big chance
You feel a hand on your back and turn to see nika
"Breath Ty your stressing yourself out" nika says softly
You nod and take a couple deep breaths
Geno waves you over so you run over to him
"Walk with me Tyler" Geno says you walk with him out of the gym
"Relax kid you've got talent that's why I picked you but your getting to in your head" Geno says
"I'm sorry I'm trying to work on it" you ramble anxiously
"No I actually want you to do the opposite have fun hang out with the girls build a bond that will be strong on and off the court we are a family here at UConn and i mean it" Geno explains
You nod your head understanding
"Since nika is already in charge of you she's gonna be in charge of you in a way I can't have you being to hard on yourself so nika will be there and she'll give you extra practices but you'll meet with me weekly to see how your doing" Geno says
Your about to argue but nika walks out of the gym freshly showered carrying your bags
"Gramps I'll take it from here I've got her" nika says smiling at Geno who pats her back before walking off
"What the fuck" you say upset
"None of that come on Ty to my car" nika said walking towards the parking lot
"Nika I missed a few shots big deal I don't need a babysitter" you say
"Ty I'm not a babysitter I'm your friend now get in the car" nika says putting your bag in the back
You get in the passenger seat
Nika starts to drive
"We're going to your apartment and your gonna shower" nika says
"But" you get cut off by nika
"Stop arguing this is gonna help you" nika says getting angry
"I'm sorry" you mumble
You see out of the corner of your eye nika smiling at your apology
Once at your apartment you go to shower and nika just sits on your bed
"We're having a movie night at mine and Paige's apartment" nika shouts
"Okay" you shout back drying your hair off
When you emerge from the bathroom you see nika laying down on your bed on her phone
"You comfy" you ask laughing at how relaxed nika is
Nika smiles softly at you
"I am your bed is very comfy" nika says winking
Your turn away blushing
"Do I look okay for movie night" you ask nervously
"Of course you look adorable come on Ty" nika says guiding you out of the apartment
In nikas apartment you see azzi, Paige, and kk sprawled out on the couch
"Ahhhh Ty finally come join us" kk said excited
Nika leaves you to go to her room
You go and sit near kk
"So how was your talk with coach" kk asks
"It was really good actually" you say
"You handled gramps yelling at you for the first time better than most do" azzi said
"Yeah it's tough the first time but he cares about you kid" Paige says offering you a smile
Nika walks back out in just her sports bra and sweatpants and you feel your heartbeat like crazy at the sight of Nika
Nika walks over and sits next to you
Kk chose to watch the purge
You aren't the biggest fan of scary movies but it was kk's pick
Someone gets stabbed making you jump slightly
Nika notices and wraps her arm around your shoulder
"Come here Ty here's some of the blanket" Nika says dropping some of her blanket over
You scoot closer to Nika and you rest your head on her shoulder
"There you go finally relaxing" Nika says proudly
You close your eyes for the rest of the movie drifting off to sleep
When you wake up the next morning you look around confused how you ended up in your bed
Wait this isn't your bed
You rub your eyes groggily sitting up in bed
"Goodmorning Tyler" Nika says coming out of the bathroom freshly showered
You look at her confused
"Where am I" you ask sleepily
Nika laughs at how sleepy you are
"Your in my bed silly you fell asleep on me on the couch so I carried you to my bed" Nika explains while drying her hair with a towel
"We slept in the same bed" you ask
And Nika laughs at your face
"No silly I slept on the couch" Nika says laughing
"Oh okay" you say getting out of nika's bed
