My hands glided over the last of the business files that needed attention. Matt would be happy, I settled three deals and I have a meeting tomorrow to finalise one deal he wanted to get his hands on.

"Look who came to see you" Anna said, walking through Matt's office, carrying a bright eyed little girl in her arms.

I stood up, making my way closer to Anna. "Hey, honey" I said, taking the little girl into my arms as she yawned. "Is someone sleepy?" I laughed, bouncing her as she gets comfortable and I looked back at Anna. "I've done all that I can. I'm not as good as Matt was, I'm sorry. I'm slacking but I'm tired"

I can't run this business at the same speed Matt did. I'm far from his level of expertise.

He did a great job with everything. I don't know how he did, he deserves a lot of credit.

Anna smiled at me. "You've done great so far" she assured me, but I didn't take her seriously, she's too nice to say anything else. "Nate's due back, tell him what to do to help" she smiled, looking down at Matt's desk. "I'll take these" she picked up a pile of files and left.

To be honest, she should be the one to take over. Her and Nate. I feel like I'm incompetent and sending this business into major downfall.

I leaned back in Matt's chair, my hand drawing circles on the little girl's back as she cuddled into me, a few baby sounds escaping her lips before all I hear is her breathing. I smiled to myself, in awe as she sleeps on me.

Such a perfect little angel that fills my heart with happiness.

Nate and Anna come back, and Nate put the plate of lemon and lime wedges I requested on Matt's desk. "Of all things Matt made me do, never have I gotten lemon and lime wedges" He laughed, as Anna looked at me from the filing cabinet.

I shrugged, licking my lips and looking at the wedges. "I just really wanted them" To be honest, I haven't thought about food all day, but the second lemon and lime wedges came to mind, they were a need. "Anna, can you take her?" I asked, carefully handing the little girl over to her and looking at Nate.

"Is there anything else? I have those files ready" Nate asked as I leaned back in Matt's chair with a lime in my mouth, putting me at ease.

"You guys can leave when you're ready. It's seven, tell the others to leave too" I said, and they looked at each other. "Did I say something wrong?" I asked, picking up a lemon slice.

"We're supposed to stay with you" Nate said and Anna interjected.

"What he means is.." she started, glaring at Nate. "we don't leave until you do. When Matt was in charge, we waited on him"

"You don't have to wait" I shrugged. "Go home and sleep. You guys have been tiring yourselves for the last two weeks"

"I'll wait. Anna, you go" Nate said, moving to the files on the desk as Anna stepped out with the little girl wrapped in her arms.

"Nate, you can go, you know?" I assured him he didn't have to stay, that he could go home and sleep. Somehow; they managed to keep the business alive without bothering me.

Nate nodded and smiled at me. "I know, but I'm not leaving until you do"

"Suit yourself" I laughed, his stubbornness reminded me of Matt. Matt was always the last to leave the building most of the time.

"That meeting at ten,  can you handle it and I just sit and pretend I know what I'm doing? I don't have a clue" I sighed, looking at Nate for help.

I'm not Matt, I'm barely me at the minute.
