While I leaned on the pillar and tried my best to stay away from everyone, because I was tired of getting pried for information. When will Matt be signing a new contract? When will the Christmas Bonus go out? When will Matt fire some staff? I had to assure two women their husbands weren't being fired.

I preferred these events when I was a girlfriend and wife, not a business gooroo who just happens to be CAO and married to the CEO. If I could go back, I wouldn't have accepted working for Matt. It's too much hassle.

A waiter smiled at me before he displayed a tray or champagne glasses. "M'am, this is for you" he said, handing me a white card. "From the man over there" he gestured to Matt and I nodded, opening the card to read it.

Y/N, meet me in room 24 on the twelfth floor. I love you - Matt xx

Maybe this is his way of apologising to me for not considering anyone else's feelings but his own. I was complaining about my back pain and he said "Y/N, you don't know pain until you've had pieces of glass piercing into your skin while you gasp for air. Take something for the pain"

All the broken pieces of the room were still in the same position Matt left them in. I'm waiting for him to calm down before telling him to clean it up.

I debate meeting him, he has been an ass and now isn't a time to whisk us away for him to say sorry. I looked at Matt, he was still at the bar by himself, watching. We locked eyes and held a stare before I broke it.

When I lost him in the room, I made my way through everyone to the exit through the doors and into the hallway.

The elevator opened and I stepped into the hallway before making my way down the corridor. I heard someone call my name and I turned to see Anna.

"Hey, what are you doing?" I asked, taking note of how shocked she looked to see me here.

"I'm meeting Nate" her voice was low as she tucked some hair behind her ear and I frowned.

"Room twenty four?"

She nodded, staring at me with innocent eyes. I guessed they were in this together. I'm not sure what they're doing, but I can assume I won't be getting an apology like I guessed.

I stood in front of the door and wait for a minute, biting on my lip and looking at Anna. I debate opening the door or going back downstairs. Since this isn't just Matt and I, I don't see what point there is.

I shook my head, shaking away my thoughts.

I pulled down on the handle and find it unlocked, before I pushed the door open.

I froze as my eyes meet the same dark eyes that I once stared into while being pinned against a brick wall with a hand over my mouth.

I felt my body become paralysed, every single fibre felt numb, my breath was hitched in my throat. I gulped, trying to get back the air that was knocked out of me.

"Well, well, well, is that all it takes for you two to stumble in here? A letter from your lovers? It's like stealing candy from a baby" he laughed. "I expected it from Anna, but not you, Y/N" he said, with a smirk I wish I could smack off his face.

I turned around and grabbed the handle but my heart raced when the handle refused to move. It's locked.

"You can't leave without this special key. I searched the whole building and I found this one room with a faulty handle. Your rich husband should fix that"

"Who are you and what do you want?" Anna asked, I seemed to have forgotten how to speak.

It's when the guy stepped closer and I felt his touch on my skin that my knees wanted to buckle.
