July 9th

I have burrowed myself into my office at Sturniolo & Co. Logan's business didn't need me and my duties at Matt's never end.

Bouncing from building to building, business to business isn't as hard as I thought. Once I managed to keep a schedule with the help of Anna and Megan, my assistant, it was easy. Logan's business can run on its own for a few days without me.

The day hasn't been the best for me. If it wasn't for the meeting I had to go to with Matt, I would've called out and stayed home. The best part of my day was when I managed to eat fresh lemon and lime wedges on my break.

The office door opened and I glared at it, before seeing Matt. "If looks could kill, I'd be dead" he said, stepping in and closing the door behind him.

"I didn't know it was you"

"Do you greet everyone like that...you should work on that"

"Matt-"

"I'm kidding. What's wrong?" He asked, cutting me off.

I wasn't in the mood for his jokes, even if he meant no harm. He's only trying to lighten the mood. "I'm busy, what do you need"

"I'm talking to you as your husband, not the CEO. What's wrong?"

I furrowed my brows and let out a breath. "Nothing. What do you need?"

"Don't make me lock you from the server, talk to me"

I shook my head at him. "You wouldn't" I said, narrowing my eyes at him. I know he would definitely knock my computer off the server and shut it down.

He stepped closer to me. "Just one text and it's done" he told me, sitting on the edge of the desk and unlocking his phone.

"Matt, stop annoying me"

"Suit yourself" he shrugged, tapping his phone.

"If you shut down my computer, I'll be pissed"

"You're already pissed" he shrugged. "Talk to me or it's getting shut down" he gave me an ultimatum and I rolled my eyes at him.

"You'll make me lose my work"

"How many times have I told you to make sure you save it?"

"Okay. Put the phone down..what do you want to know?"

Matt hummed. "Can you explain why I had my intern hide out in my office while I was in a meeting? Good job scaring him, but that's my job. It's the fun part"

I'm not proud of what happened and I can only assume Nate and Matt laughed at it over coffee.

I didn't intend to take my frustration out on the intern, but I couldn't help it. It just happened.

I rolled my eyes at him. "I'm sorry I stole your thrill of being the asshole"

"It's a turn on" he shrugged. "I know you better, I know you're not an asshole, when you are, I worry. What's the reason my wife is scaring the intern?"

I shrugged, not knowing how to justify it. Deep down, I know I owe the intern an apology.

I looked down at my hands in my lap. "Y/N?"

I let out a deep breath. "It's not a good day, Matt"

"What happened? I can't help if you don't tell me"

He can't help, there's nothing to fix the problems in my mind. This isn't a business matter I managed to get over my head about. This is a personal, emotional matter he can't fix.
