Your POV
I sat in the office, taking a minute to look away from the computer screen to breathe and relax. I have a meeting in forty minutes, a meeting I'm not prepared for but I'm going to give it my all. I feel out of place, even though I shouldn't. I felt they didn't take me serious until Nate glared at them.
Nate burst through the door with a shock face and Anna appeared behind him. "Y/N, what's wrong with Matt?" I looked at them, amused at how they came in. It's like they're attached at the hip, like Matt and I.
If only they'd make it official. We all know they're a thing or fooling around.
Anna attempted to grab Nate but it didn't work. "Really, what's his problem?"
I'm not sure I want to get into the middle of this.
"I'm not sure, why?" I asked, looking at the time and noticing how Matt didn't text me this morning, as far as I knew, he was still sleeping.
"He's being an asshole, I called him and it was like talking to a bitter asshole, he reminded me of Logan"
"He's not feeling good. He was up all night in pain, cut him slack"
"I'm trying, but I've never hear him be such an ass. I've dealt with him for a long time, I've been around him when business has gone wrong, when clients fucked him over and he's never been like this"
"Nate" Anna cut him off. "She's still your boss and his wife" she mumbled, pulling Nate back but he's too heated. I don't blame him, he's probably exhausted from working and having to deal with Matt, it's not easy.
"I know he's a lot right now, just bear with me, okay?" I asked, not sure what to do at this point.
I just want a day of relaxing, no issues with business or Matt.
"He told me if I don't have everything done by tonight and land this client, then I'm not longer a partner and I'm fired"
"Okay, that won't happen. He's talking out of pain and anger" I said, shaking my head.
"All because I called to check up on him and he got mad because he can't play golf on the weekend...a game of golf, Y/N" he grunted, not happy with Matt.
I wasn't defending Matt, but I can't say it wasn't expected, I was waiting for him to snap. He's stuck in the house and forced to find a way to entertain himself without doing the things he used to. He can't go for a run to clear his head and he can't jump into the business world.
I stayed quiet, not sure of what to say to Nate right now. I'm assuming this isn't a business issue and more of a personal issue that needs me to be a friend, but I can't not take Matt's side.
"He's just in a rough place. He won't fire you"
Nate shrugged and shook his head. "Anyway, we have that meeting...you're glowing, Anna, isn't she glowing?" Nate tilted his head to the side as he looked at me.
Anna nodded, agreeing with him.
I rolled my eyes and reached for my tea before they threw questions at me. "It's the sun"
They're delusional, the glare from the sun is peeking through the big window of Matt's office.
"No, you look like you're glowing"
"I was looking at the portfolio of one of the clients we're meeting later, their Portfolio Asset Allocation Change has reduced by 8.8% in funds, their funds are all declining and at the minute their stocks aren't doing great. They'd be a let down, right? The analysis on the portfolio isn't great"
