I looked away from the screen of my computer at the office door as it opened. I expected it to be Megan, my assistant, but it was Matt, wearing a black suit.

"It's not nice for you to show up unannounced. I thought I told Megan not to let my business rival in here" I smiled at him as he walked over to my desk.

"Good luck stopping me" he laughed, moving around my desk to lean down and kiss my cheek. "Did you get those two portfolios from our meeting this morning?"

I nodded. "They were assholes about it. They like to make it hard because I'm a woman"

"I'm sorry" he kissed my cheek again. "Do you need me to step in?"

I shook my head. As much as I appreciate his offer and having my back, I prefer to work through my problems on my own.

I don't run to Matt unless I'm too far in over my head.

Taking control of Logan's business was challenging. Matt and I both have authority in the business but he handed me the reigns when we agreed it was better for him to focus on Sturniolo & Co.

What I found challenging was balancing work, being a Mom and a wife.

I used to argue with Matt for not knowing how to draw a line and now I understand. Since Cody was born, Matt has learned to draw the line between business and family. He still pulls late nights but not as much.

Taking over Logan's business and having the privilege to operate most of the reigns made me realise how hard he worked over the years. I'm lucky I have Matt to help me and be my shoulder to lean on. Matt didn't have that.

One night, he found me asleep in the living room surrounded by documents that had to be sorted, a simple task he did countless times. He didn't wake me, he just covered me with a blanket and let me sleep while he sorted the documents. I've always complained about documents and not filing a clerk, but Matt says, "you can trust other people with your documents. You have to suck it up and deal with it yourself"

Matt and I took turns in the business world, managing to keep a happy middle that works well with the two of us balancing both companies.

"I can do it. Where's our son?" I asked, noticing Cody isn't in Matt's arms, smiling at me.

Matt shrugged. "I left him with some man in the lobby...I'm kidding" he quickly added, taking note of my face. "He's with Nate. Are you ready to go?"

"Why is Nate here? He should be at the church, Matt. Your job was to make sure he got there" I shook my head at him. "And you were supposed to shave"

I knew it was a bad idea to put Matt in charge of Nate this morning, Cody and in charge of getting himself ready.

Matt hummed and smirked. "So should you, you're supposed to be at the church. I didn't get time to shave, I have a grumpy son since you left, a nervous groom and a wife who needs to get her dress on"

"Matt" I mumbled, glaring at him.

He shrugged. "Nate was freaking out and I handled it"

I furrowed my eyebrows in worry, worried he said he had everything under control but the groom is currently occupying a two year old. "By having our two year old keep him company?"

"Y/N, I have it under control"

"I see that" I said sarcastically and rolled my eyes.

"No need for sarcasm" he smiled, leaning down to kiss my cheek. "I have your dress and jewellery in the car and-" he started, but cut off when he heard Cody's cry.
