Matt's POV
I smiled, overhearing Y/N's heels echoing against the floor downstairs and making their way to the stairs. I looked at the suit on the bed, ready to put it on. It has been four weeks since the accident and the last two weeks have been hell, my body isn't how it used to be, it still feels the aches it did when I was on the road.
Y/N walked into the bedroom and I smiled at her, but she barely smiled back. I frowned, but she kissed my cheek.
"How was your day?" I asked, running a towel over my damp hair as she sat on the bed and took her heels off.
"Long and exhausting" she sighed, closing her eyes. "What time do we have to leave?"
"In an hour" I said, grabbing my shirt and putting it on as Y/N ran her fingers through her hair.
Y/N and I grew withdrawn as we got ready for the event. I gave her some space, taking note of her tiredness. I know what it's like to get up at four in the morning and go through a whole day and night dealing with things. After tonight, it should be me getting up and she can sleep. If she stays in our business, I don't expect her up before the sun.
I wait downstairs for Y/N, keeping my eyes on the time. I hate being late, but I can tolerate it. "Y/N, babe-" I started to call, but I stopped when I saw her at the top of the stairs. My eyes glisten as she walked down the stairs in a white dress.
She reached the bottom of the stairs and I kissed her cheek, knowing well that kissing her lips will ruin her lipstick, and I can't do that tonight. "You look beautiful" I said, loving how she made my heart flutter. I took her hand and leaded her out of the house.

I got out of the car as my driver opened the door and I stand, offering my hand to Y/N. She put her hand in mine and get out of the car, fixing her dress. I took a breath and walked up to my building.
Y/N slides her hand in my arm as we step inside and make our way to the same area I hold all my events. It's always the same room, just different set up and decorations. The doors slide open upon our arrival and we stepped in. My eyes glimmer when I see the setup Y/N managed to organise, from lights to flowers.
"This looks great, really" I said, proud of the fact she put this together with little time and experience. Anna probably helped her, but I had no doubt Y/N did most of the work.
"The man of the hour" Nate welcomed me, shaking my hand before hugging Y/N. "Dude, this is all for you"
I shook my head, not wanting the attention. This event is focused on charity and formally announcing Nate as a partner in the business. He earned his position, especially with how highly Y/N spoke of him since I'd been gone.
"And you, Y/N, you look beautiful. Still glowing" he laughed and I rolled my eyes.
"She's beautiful, isn't she?" I smiled, happy to show her off. She deserves to be told she's beautiful. "But you should go flirt with Anna, I hear she's still on the market" I winked, watching Nate blush.
"Hilarious. I guess you're not firing me?" Nate joked and I furrowed my eyebrows, trying not to laugh and remember my outburst.
"Nate, it was a bad day. You're too re...re..." I trailed off, struggling to think of the word.
"Reliable" Y/N whispered into my ear and kissing my cheek.
I cleared my throat. "Reliable. I can't get rid of you"
"How about you fly the coop? I know some men waiting to talk to you about business" Nate said, easing me back into business conversation.
I look at Y/N and she smiled at me. "I'm going for a drink. I'll catch up soon, okay?" She asked and I bit my lip, not wanting to stray away from her, but I nodded. She leaned up and kissed my lips softly. "Nate, watch him"
