-Start of Chapter 21-

The sky darkens ominously as I make my way back home, my mind still racing with questions about last night. I glance up, noticing the thick, grey clouds rolling in. 

Great. Just what I needed.

As I walk, my phone buzzes in my pocket. I pull it out and see a message from an unknown number. Ignoring it, I slip my phone back into my pocket, not in the mood to deal with spam or anything else right now. But then it buzzes again then again. 

Annoyed, I take it out and reluctantly open the message.

My heart stops as I read the words on the screen.

(Unknown number):

You're not safe. 

You think you can hide? 

I will find you.

Park Y/N, you can't escape me.

I freeze, a chill running down my spine. The message is from an unknown number, but the tone is unmistakable. It's him. My father. I can feel the blood drain from my face, my hands shaking as I clutch the phone.

Another message comes through.

(Unknown number):

I will hunt you down. No matter what it takes.

~~~~~

My breath catches in my throat, and I feel a wave of panic surge through me. The world around me blurs as I try to steady myself, my mind racing with fear and anger. 

H-How did he find me? Why now?

Suddenly, a raindrop hits my cheek, snapping me out of my thoughts. I look up, the sky now a deep, threatening grey. The rain starts to fall, heavy and relentless, as if the heavens are crying with me.

With trembling hands, I block the number and turn off my phone, shoving it back into my pocket. I can't deal with this right now. Not here, not like this.

The downpour intensifies, and I realize that home is too far away to make it back dry. I look around, searching for shelter, and spot a large tree with dense foliage nearby. 

It's not perfect, but it's better than nothing.

I dash to the tree, ducking under its branches as the rain pounds down around me. Water drips from the leaves above, splashing onto my already damp clothes. 

I hug my arms around myself, shivering slightly from the cold and the dampness seeping through my thin shirt.

The park is now deserted, the usual hustle and bustle replaced by the relentless sound of rain hitting the ground.
