-Start of Chapter 76-
The movie is playing, but I can't focus. Every time I try to follow the plot, I catch a glimpse of Soobin out of the corner of my eye. He's sitting so close, his arm resting on the armrest between us, but I can't ignore the small shifts of his posture, the way his leg brushes against mine when he shifts.
I steal a glance at him, only to find him already looking at me. Our eyes meet, and for a second, neither of us looks away. It's like we both know this moment is fleeting, and neither of us wants to be the first to look away.
He smiles at me, his dimples deepening, and I feel my cheeks flush. I quickly turn my attention back to the screen, but my heart is racing.
The tension between us grows with each passing second. My fingers twitch in my lap, wanting to reach out, but I stop myself.
And then, out of nowhere, Soobin reaches over, lifting the armrest between us. The gap that had felt so wide is now gone, and he holds out the popcorn bucket toward me with a soft smile.
"Want some?"
I can't help but smile back, feeling my heart flutter. "Yeah, sure."
Taking a few, I pop them in my mouth instinctively reaching for more. Soobin's fingers brush against mine. I look down at our hands, feeling a little breathless. But before I can say anything, he slowly intertwines his fingers with mine, his touch warm and gentle.
I glance at him, his eyes soft, a shy smile playing at his lips. I can't help the warmth that spreads through me.
Without thinking, I rest my head on his shoulder. It feels so natural, like I've done this a thousand times before. The weight of his presence is comforting, and I close my eyes for a moment, just focusing on the rhythm of his breathing.
After the movie, we step out of the movie theatre, the cool night air hitting us as we make our way to the restaurant. It's fancy—way fancier than any place I would usually go. The polished glass doors and dim lighting give off an air of elegance. I can't help but stare, a little wide-eyed.
"Wow." I murmur under my breath, glancing at Soobin. "This is... fancy."
He chuckles, his hands casually slipping into his pockets. "Don't worry about it. It's on me."
I raise an eyebrow, a playful smile tugging at my lips. "What? No, I won't let you pay for all of it."
He shrugs nonchalantly, flashing me a grin that makes my heart skip. "It's fine. I want to."
I hesitate for a second, still not entirely comfortable with the idea of him picking up the entire tab. "I don't know..."
Soobin takes a step closer, his voice soft and coaxing. "Please? Let me treat you this time. I insist."
I glance at him, unable to ignore the warmth in his eyes. After a moment of deliberation, I give in with a sigh, my arms crossed in mock defeat. "Fine. If you insist so much."
He flashes a victorious smile, clearly pleased.
As we step inside, I can't help but feel a little nervous. The ambiance is so upscale, the soft clinking of glass and low hum of conversations making the whole place feel surreal.
We're led to a table in the corner, and as we sit down, I look over at Soobin. He's already looking at me, a faint smile tugging at his lips.
I tilt my head, teasing. "So, is this a date?"
