Soobin's POV
The world feels lighter today. The kind of day where the sun is warm but not too hot, and a soft breeze carries the promise of spring. It's been a few days since everything settled—or as settled as things can get in our world—and I finally managed to convince Y/N to take a break.
And by convince, I mean showing up at her café, grabbing her coat, and pulling her outside before she could protest.
Now, we're strolling through a park, the kind that feels like it belongs in a picture book. The trees are just starting to wake up from winter, tiny green buds peeking through the branches. Families are scattered on the grass, and kids are laughing as they chase each other around.
"Do you even know where we're going?" Y/N asks, looking up at me with a teasing smile.
I glance down at her, pretending to be deeply offended. "Of course, I know where we're going. This is a carefully curated date experience."
"Oh, so 'walking aimlessly through a park' is curated?"
"Excuse you, this is thoughtfully aimless. Big difference."
She laughs, the sound light and carefree, and I swear it makes the whole park seem brighter. Her cheeks are slightly pink, whether from the crisp air or her amusement, I can't tell.
"Fine, Mr. Thoughtfully Aimless. Lead the way," she says, tucking her hands into the pockets of her jacket.
The warmth in the air matches the gentle buzz in my chest as we stroll through the park, her hand in mine. It's the kind of day that feels like a promise—a little too perfect, as if the universe decided we deserved a moment of peace.
Y/N's fingers intertwine with mine, and I give her hand a light squeeze. She glances up at me with a small smile, her cheeks kissed by the faintest shade of pink.
We walk side by side, and I can't help but notice how she occasionally glances at the kids playing nearby. There's a soft look in her eyes, like she's remembering something.
"You look like you want to join them," I say, nodding toward the kids.
She smirks. "And embarrass myself in front of all these people? No, thank you."
"Embarrass yourself? Please, you'd crush them in a game of tag."
She rolls her eyes but doesn't argue, which I count as a win.
We come across a small pond, and I tug her toward the edge where a few ducks are lazily paddling around.
"Ducks" I announce, as if it's a groundbreaking discovery.
She snorts. "Wow, you're really pulling out all the stops today."
"Hey, don't mock the ducks. They're romantic."
"Oh, totally. Nothing screams romance like bread-hungry ducks."
I crouch down, picking up a pebble, and skip it across the water. It bounces once before sinking.
"Impressive," she deadpans, crossing her arms.
"Fine, you try." I challenge, holding out a pebble.
She takes it, her fingers brushing against mine for just a second longer than necessary, and it sends a spark up my arm. She winds up dramatically and then tosses the pebble... straight into the water with a loud plop.
