-Start of Chapter 22-
As we enter the dorm, I look around and notice the messiness. "Where are the other members?" I ask, curious.
"They're all at work." Soobin replies, leading me further inside. "It's just us right now."
The dorm is a bit messy but definitely cozy. There are books and papers scattered around, a few jackets tossed over chairs, and some empty snack wrappers on the coffee table.
Despite the clutter, it feels inviting.
It feels like home...
Soobin looks around, a sheepish expression on his face. "Sorry about the mess," he says, scratching the back of his head. "We weren't expecting company."
I chuckle, feeling a little lighter. "It's fine, really. It feels... cozy."
Soobin's eyes move to my wet clothes, and his concern deepens. "You're freezing." he says, more to himself than to me. "Wait here." He quickly runs off to a room and returns a moment later with a set of oversized clothes, a slight blush colouring his cheeks.
"These are mine." he says, holding out a large hoodie and a pair of sweatpants. "They aren't much, but they're definitely better than those wet clothes."
I take the clothes from him, feeling my own cheeks heat up at the thought of wearing his clothes. "Thanks..." I say softly.
He nods, still looking a bit embarrassed. "The bathroom is just down the hall on the right. You can change there. I'll make something warm for you in the meantime."
I follow his directions, finding the bathroom and quickly changing out of my soaked clothes.
The hoodie and sweatpants are ridiculously large on me, but they're warm and dry.
It... smells like Soobin...
I can't help but smile a little at the thought.
When I return to the living room, Soobin is in the kitchen, busying himself with a kettle. He looks up as I enter, his eyes widening slightly at the sight of me in his clothes. "You look... comfortable." he says with a shy smile.
I blush, tugging at the hem of the hoodie. "Thanks. They're really warm."
He finishes making the hot chocolate and brings two steaming mugs over to the couch. "Here," he says, handing one to me. "Drink it. It'll help you warm up."
I take a sip, the heat spreading through my body, and sigh in relief. "It's perfect. Thank you."
As I take little sips, grateful for the warmth it offers both inside and out, I catch Soobin stealing glances at me.
His eyes hold a mix of concern and something else, something softer that I can't quite place.
"You know." he begins, his voice gentle but hesitant, "You look really beautiful in my clothes."
His unexpected compliment catches me off guard, and I choke on the hot chocolate. I feel my cheeks flush with warmth. "Oh." I stammer, coughing, covering my mouth as I try to recover. "Th-thank you, Soobin."
He looks mortified, quickly leaning forward. "Are you okay? I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to make you choke!" His concern is evident, and his own cheeks are tinged with a deep red.
"I'm fine." I manage to say, still coughing a little but feeling a strange warmth in my chest. "Really, I'm fine."
He offers me a reassuring smile, though his own embarrassment is clear.
His gaze lingers on me in a way that sends a pleasant shiver down my spine.
"I mean it." he says earnestly, though he's clearly flustered. "You always look amazing, but there's something about you in oversized hoodies that's just..."
He trails off, his face growing redder by the second.
I finally catch my breath, looking at him with a shy smile. "Thanks, Soobin." I say softly, the sincerity in my voice matching the warmth in my cheeks.
Before either of us can say anything else, there's a sudden crash of thunder outside, followed by a flash of lightning that briefly illuminates the room.
I jump at the noise, instinctively moving closer to Soobin for comfort.
He doesn't hesitate to wrap his arm around my shoulders, pulling me into a comforting embrace. "It's just a storm." he murmurs soothingly.
Realising what I did I quickly shoot away making the hot chocolate spill all over my hands.
"Ack!"
Soobin is quickly beside me, taking the mug out of my hand and placing it on the table.
He takes my hand gently, checking if I'm hurt. "Are you okay? Did it burn you?" he asks, his voice filled with worry.
"It's fine, really." I say, trying to downplay it, but I can see the concern etched on his face. "I'm sorry I dropped some on your clothes."
"It's fine, you didn't drop much on the clothes, it's mostly on your hands. Are you sure you're okay? The hot chocolate was really hot. You could've burnt yourself-" He continues to ramble, his worry evident.
I stop him with a small smile. "Soobin, it's okay. Can you just grab me some tissues?"
He nods quickly, running to get some.
When he returns, he gently dabs at my hands, treating them with care.
As he cleans, he suddenly stops, his eyes widening as he sees a large scar on my palm.
I quickly pull my hand away, hiding it. "It's nothing." I say, my voice tense. "Just an old scar."
"If you say so..."
