Looking around at the empty comic book store made Kyla even more depressed. The newest comics hadn't come in yet, meaning Demetri wasn't here, Eli hadn't been in the small store since he got his tattoos and mohawk, Aishas been busy with karate and she hadn't heard from Miguel in a few days, not since the party.

She missed her friends. Everything seemed different now and she hated it.

"Woah, you're in a deep thought." Alessia Ramí, the newest coworker of the store, spoke walking behind the counter where Kyla was standing. "Not anymore." Kyla muttered with a small smile.

She actually really enjoyed Alessia's company, it just sucked that she attended a different school.

The brunette nodded as she looked at her coworker. "What're you thinking about?"

Kyla took another look around the ghost town of a room. "That we have an hour left and no one's been here in three. Technically, we could close early tonight." She just wanted to get out and go talk to him.

Alessia shrugged her shoulders with a smile. "Everything's restocked, we'd just have to vacuum and wipe the counters."

"I'm down if you are."

"Let's do it."

--

An hour later, Kyla pulled up to her destination. Anxiety pained her stomach but she nodded her head before getting out of the car.

Knock, knock, knock!

Her heart was pounding at this point and she could feel her ears getting hot. But she didn't care, it was time to rip off the bandaid.

"Kyla?" His voice was mixed with slight anger and confusion.

"Hey Mig." A small tugged her lips.

"What're you doing here?" He asked. A part of him was happy that his friend was here, in front of him. His friend that he missed. The other half was still mad at her, for being there for Robby and not him, and the entire party situation.

What was she going to say? She didn't plan this out.

"I, uh-"

"Do you want to come in?" Miguel asked, stepping out of the way so she could walk through. He instantly recognized her hesitation. "My mom and yaya are out grocery shopping."

Kyla nodded before walking past him, she immediately took her shoes off and just stood waiting for Miguel to close the door. He took a deep breath before he turned to face her. "What's up?"
