Our Strong Little Firefighter Hot shot and BFFS VS Brain Tumor Fire

Chapter 3

Hot shot had recently found out he has a brain tumor. The brain tumor was taken out and tested with a test called a biopsy. The biopsy showed that Hot shot has a type of brain cancer called Atypical Teratoid Rhabdoid Tumor or ATRT. Hot shot was going to begin getting tests to help plan his treatment plan to help him fight his cancer. Hot shot was kind of nervous. Hot shot was scared about all that he has been told. He was worried about all that has happened recently. He was worried what might happen. He was worried about what treatment was going to be like. He was really scared and not knowing what to expect. He was wondering what was going to happen. He was wondering if the family knew. 

Hot shot was having a hard time sleeping. Hot shot was trying to rest and sleep. Hot shot's sleep wasn't very restful. Quickshadow who was with him could tell he was having a hard time sleeping. It was hard to watch him to try to rest and relax. She knew Hot shot had a very aggressive and rare cancer. She was hoping Hot shot was going to be alright. She knew Hot shot was tough and that he could handle it. She loved her son very much. 

She and Heatwave had already contacted their families and family friends telling them Hot shot's diagnosis. They were all in shock about it to say the least. But they were all going to be there for them no matter what and be with them all they way. That is what their family and friends told them. That made Quickshadow and Heatwave feel so much better. 

Quickshadow's coworkers in the hospital knew. They knew it was going to be tough for Quickshadow. Because they knew she was a pediatric oncologist and that her son was diagnosed with a type of cancerous brain tumor. Which is the deadliest form of childhood cancer. They knew this was going to be tough for her. They were going to do their best to help her with support and help Hot shot. They consider Hot shot to be really apart of the Cook Children's family because his mother works there. They consider all children who go there to be part of the Cook Children's family. But Hot shot was considered that even before he became a patient there because he was a child of one of the doctors. 

Quickshadow also got into contact with the pediatric brain tumor foundation. So herself, Heatwave and Hot shot could all get support during this time. They were going to help with many things. She just had to wait for a call back. She and Heatwave would be able to talk to other families going through the same thing they are through this organization. They could also talk to other families in Cook Children's of brain tumor patients. Quickshadow knew that here at Cook children's they get around 80 to 100 new brain tumor patients a year so they got a good program. 

Heatwave's fellow firefighters and other first responders learned of this. They understood how hard he must be taking it and it wasn't going to be easy at all. They were going to be there for him and help him in anyway that they can. 

Blades, Boulder, and Chase also found out through Heatwave. They were going to be supportive and help in anyway they could. They were going to spend time with Heatwave and his family to help Hot shot value his child during treatment. Because they knew even though he was getting treatment for cancer they wanted him to be a kid still.

Hot shot was still trying to sleep when suddenly he woke up with sharp pain. "Ouch," Hot shot said. 

"Your head hurts?" Quickshadow asked.

"Yes," Hot shot said. "Still does I thought it would stop once the tumor was taken out," he said.

"Well it will still hurt after it is taken out because your head is still healing," Quickshadow said.

"Oh," Hot shot said.

Then a nurse came into the room to check on Hot shot. "Hello," the nurse named Riley said. She checked Hot shot over.

"My head hurts," Hot shot said.

"Would you like some medicine for the headache?" Riley asked.

"Yes please," Hot shot said.
