Hot shot was now settled into his hospital room. He was going to start chemotherapy soon. Hot shot was nervous but ready to be brave. But before that Hot shot was going to need a check up and tests done.

Hot shot was being seen by Dr. Zhao. Hot shot was happy to see Dr. Zhao. Hot shot got examined from head to toe by Dr. Zhao. "Okay Hot shot you are ready to start chemotherapy tomorrow," Dr. Zhao said.

"Okay," Hot shot said. "How often will I get chemotherapy?" he asked.

"Five days every two weeks for the IV, three days for every two weeks for the shots, and five days every week for the oral and it is berry flavored like you wanted," Dr. Zhao said. "It is due to it being more aggressive type of of brain cancer and it has spread so it needs more frequent chemotherapy for several months, most likely a year," she said. "You need to be brave," she said.

"I am going to be brave as a firefighter fighting a fire," Hot shot said.

"Very good," Dr. Zhao said. "You will be able to take the oral chemo at home with your other medicines like you have been doing," she said.

"Okay," Hot shot said.

"Sometimes you will take more than one medicine through your Hickman line at time and that is normal," Dr. Zhao said.

"Okay," Hot shot said.

Once back in his room, Hot shot had his beads of courage. Hot shot saw his parents even packed his chemo duck Mizi.

"I thought you might like it that Mizi was here," Heatwave said.

"Thank you daddy," Hot shot said.

Heatwave stayed for a while and then had to leave. "I got to go now Hot shot, but I will be back on Tuesday," Heatwave said. "Then I will stay with you all Tuesday while your mother goes to work," he said.

"Okay," Hot shot said.

Hot shot was ready to be brave in fighting his cancer. Hot shot was a bit nervous about starting chemotherapy. Hot shot knew he was going to be getting through his central line. Hot shot had seen nurses take blood from it. He even got contrast through it for his MRI scans. So he knew it wasn't going to hurt. But that still made him nervous.

Right now Hot shot was getting a dressing change along with a cap change. It was that time for it. Hot shot was ready for it too. Hot shot giggled when the stuffed used to loosen the dressing was put on. It tickled and it was a bit of an interesting smell. Then the dressing was removed. Then the nurse cleaned up the area and allowed it to dry. Then she replaced the dressing carefully. She washed her hands again and replaced the caps on Hot shot's Hickman line. Then she proceed to open the clamps and flush the lines. Then she even took a blood sample from it. Then she closed the lines again. "Okay Hot shot that takes care of that," the nurse said.

"That wasn't so bad," Hot shot said.

"I am glad," the nurse said.

Quickshadow was with Hot shot. Hot shot and Quickshadow were spending time together. Hot shot had to be taken to get a lumbar puncture right now. Hot shot knew he needed to the tests done since he check up was finished. Hot shot hated the lumbar punctures, they really hurt! Hot shot wasn't too happy about. "Mummy I hate lumbar punctures, they hurt!" Hot shot said.

"I know they hurt poppet," Quickshadow said.

"I also hate other times I have to get stuck with needles even though I have a Hickman line." Hot shot said.

"I know you do but sometimes nurses and doctors need access to your veins when the Hickman line is use," Quickshadow told him.

"I hate needles," Hot shot said.
