Chapter 14

Hot shot was spending time at the hospital getting treatment for his cancer. Hot shot was being very brave through it all. Hot shot was happy that things seemed to be going well according to Dr. Zhao. Right now the doctors where checking on Hot shot and doing tests. Hot shot was getting used to the tests and such. Hot shot was getting an MRI at the moment.

"You are doing great Hot shot," Fred the radiographer said. "Keep being nice and still," he said.

"Okay," Hot shot said.

Hot shot was watching a movie play as he was getting his MRI done. Hot shot was watching one of his favorite movies. Hot shot heard the machine stop. The movie also stopped. "Okay Hot shot all finished," Fred said.

Hot shot was happy now that the can was over. Finally after 2 and 1/2 months in the hospital he could go home. Hot shot still had to get treatments and tests.

Time continued to pass and Hot shot still had a busy schedule. Then it was time to see Dr. Zhao. "I have good news no signs of tumor recurrence or cancer cells in the cerebrospinal fluid." Dr. Zhao said. "Hot shot's scans and tests have been clean for about 4 months." She said. "Hot shot is in remission," she said.

"That is such a relief," Heatwave said.

"It makes me so happy to hear that," Quickshadow said.

"What does that mean?" Hot shot asked.

"It means you beat cancer Hot shot," Dr. Zhao said.

"I did it," Hot shot said.

"You sure did son," Heatwave said.

"You will still need a few more weeks of chemotherapy to play it safe," Dr. Zhao said.

"Okay," Hot shot said.

Hot shot found out his friends were also in remission too. That made Hot shot very happy too. His friends were happy as well.

Over the next few weeks Hot shot had his remaining chemotherapy sessions.

Finally that September Hot shot got to ring the bell. Hot shot was happy when ringing it. It made him feel very proud of himself too.

Hot shot was done with treatment. But he still has to come back for checkups and tests for a long time. It is to make sure the cancer stays away. Hot shot was looking forward to coming less often to the hospital. But right now it had to be at least once a month. Hot shot knew it was important too.

Today on November 8th Hot shot was going to get his wish. He was super excited about it too. He saw all of the puppy supplies. Then a make a wish worker came up with the puppy. "He's so cute!" Hot shot said. "His name is Fireplug," he said.

"That's a nice name," The wish worker said.

Hot shot was taking good care of Fireplug. He was so happy. Both him and Fireplug bonded very closely.

Then a few months later Hot shot's hair started to grow back. Hot shot was even going to school full time now. Hot shot was happy to be there. His friends who also beat their cancer were there too. Hot shot and his friends were very close. They are the best of friends.

As the years passed and Hot shot continued to grow he hasn't had a reoccurrence. That was what he and his parents were grateful for.

Hot shot and Override's friendship was growing closer. Hot shot was still close to his other hospital friends. But Override he was the closest too. Once in high school Hot shot and Override began to date. They even kept dating in college. Then shortly before graduation of college. Hot shot and Override got married. They even had a baby girl named Emberstar a few years later. They were both so happy about this. Life was going well.

Hot shot was even a professional baseball player now. Hot shot was playing for the Texas Rangers. Hot shot even visited the hospital where he was treated as a child on a regular basis. That way he can bring smiles to the kids faces. Hot shot was never going to forget his cancer battle ever.
