Hot shot was coming back to the hospital for more chemotherapy. Hot shot was ready to get it over with. Hot shot was going to the infusion center. Hot shot was bringing Roxy the rhino with him along with his tablet. Hot shot and his mother made it there. Then the two of them got out of the car and headed into the Dodson specialty clinic. Then they got to the fifth floor and made it to the infusion clinic.
Hot shot was checked in and got a hospital bracelet. Then a nurse named Louis took some blood from Hot shot's central line. Then took it away to be tested. Hot shot waited a for a while and Louis came back with some medicine.
Hot shot took the medicine that Louis gave him. "Very good Hot shot," Louis said. Then Louis came back a couple of hours later with Hot shot's chemotherapy. Hot shot's Hickman line was soon hooked up the IV. Hot shot was glad the Hickman line didn't cause him any pain. It didn't hurt a bit when the IV was hooked up to him. Hot shot was very happy about it being painless to get his chemotherapy.
"Okay Hot shot you are all set up." Louis said.
"Okay," Hot shot said. Then Hot shot was able to rest in a big and comfy chair. Hot shot was able to watch videos while the chemotherapy was dripping into his Hickman line. Hot shot saw his friends were there getting there chemotherapy infusions too. Hot shot even waved at them.
Hot shot also saw kids who were there getting some kind of infusion. Some kids were getting an infusion of fluids. Others were getting blood products. Some like him were getting medicine such as chemotherapy.
Hot shot was getting kind of hungry. "I am kind of hungry," Hot shot said.
"I brought some snacks," Quickshadow said.
"Great," Hot shot said. Hot shot was happy that his mother had thought ahead on this. Hot shot was able to enjoy some cheesy whale crackers while getting his chemotherapy. Hot shot was enjoying the videos he was watching as he was getting his chemotherapy too.
Hot shot's pump bleeped about 4 and half hours later. Hot shot's IV bag was now empty. Then Louis came up and disconnect the IV and closed the clamp on Hot shot's Hickman line. Hot shot was happy he could go back home now.
Once back home about 2 hours later an alarm went off. "Hot shot time for you medicine," Quickshadow said.
"Okay," Hot shot said.
Quickshadow set up all the medicine in syringes for Hot shot. Hot shot proceeded to take them one by one. Hot shot took the last one. "Good job Hot shot," Quickshadow said. "You will have to take more medicine later," she said.
"Okay," Hot shot said.
Hot shot was taken to get his chemotherapy sessions by either his mother or father. Hot shot even had check ups he needed to go to as well. Hot shot was pretty busy a lot of the time. There was a lot to do too. Hot shot had a lot do too.
Hot shot still had to take the medicine he takes at home. Hot shot was still getting chemo and check ups. Hot shot was doing just fine. Hot shot takes all of his medicine without a fight too.
"You are a wonderful and brave little firefighter," Heatwave told him.
"You are so brave," Quickshadow told him.
His family sent cards to him wishing him well. Hot shot had his parents read them to him since he was still learning how to read. Hot shot was happy about that he had a family who was thinking of him.
Hot shot was going to need more chemotherapy for a few more months according to Dr. Zhao. Hot shot's treatment was going to take a while. Hot shot wasn't too happy about this.
Hot shot was able to do some kindergarten while in treatment at the school. But most of the time he had to either take lessons at home or in the hospital. Hot shot even got to talk to his friends he made in the hospital on the phone and over video chat when they didn't see each other in person. They even had get togethers at each other's houses as long as no one was feeling sick.
They were so happy about this. Hot shot was glad to have good friends that knew what he was going through. They were becoming very close.
Hot shot knew even though treatment was going well, he still had a long hard fight ahead of him. He was still going to need more treatment to get better for a while and to make sure the tumor stays away. Then hopefully soon treatment will end and things can get back on track once again.
