August, 1988

It was another lovely day in the Funtastic World of Hanna Barbera. Quick Draw McGraw and Huckleberry Hound were out for a walk through town, drinking some lemonade.

"This here lemonade sure is tasty!" Quick Draw beamed.

"You said it!" Huck smiled, taking another sip. "Ahhh, so refreshin' and delicious!"

They soon came up to a poster that read, "1988 Funtastic World Horse Race! Tomorrow, at noon, in the park! See if your horse is the fastest for a chance at twenty-five thousand dollars! Come one, come all!"

"I'm guaranteed to win this race!" Quick Draw said. "My pet pony, Lucky Star's a really fast horse!"

"I'm sure he's not as fast as my... wait a minute, I don't have a horse!" Huck said sadly. "Now I won't be able to race for a chance at the prize money!"

"Don't feel sad, Huck," Quick Draw sighed. "I'm sure you'll be able to find a horse at the stable. Why don't we go there and see if there's a horse for you?"

"Okay," Huck replied.

The two walked through the park and made their way to the local horse stable to see if they could find a horse for Huck. They passed by the park, when they suddenly heard a noise.

"Neeeeeeigh!"

"What was that?" Huck wondered. Then he heard the noise again. He took another step, and the sound was getting louder and louder! He followed the sound when he came to a bush. He pushed through the leaves to see a beautiful countryside. And there, standing right in front of him was a beautiful unicorn with white fur, and a pink and blue mane and tail. On her head was a long sparkling horn.

"Leapin' lizards!!" he cried. "A unicorn!"

He walked over to the unicorn, and started petting her on her head.

"Hello little unicorn," he said to her. "I gotta say, your as perty as a picture!"

The little unicorn smiled at Huck, then nuzzled his cheek and gave him a friendly lick.

"Hey, that tickles!" the hound said, giggling. "What kind of magic can you..."

But before Huck could finish his sentence, the unicorn's horn began to glow, and just like that, she shot a beam at a flower, and it began to grow to the top of the tall tree!

"Wow!" Huck cried. "You can do all sorts of magic! I've just gotta show you to the others!"

He then noticed that the unicorn had a twinkle in her eye.

"I think I'm gonna call you Twinkle!"

The unicorn let out a happy neigh.

"I think she likes it!" Huck chuckled. Then he hopped on Twinkle's back. "Let's go, Twinkle!"

Twinkle reared up and neighed once again, before she took off galloping, and leaped out of the bushes where Quick Draw was standing. The horse gasped in shock when he saw her. He had never seen a unicorn in town before.

"A unicorn!?" he gasped. "In town!? What's going on here?"

Twinkle stopped in front of the horse as Huck said, "Quick Draw, I have a new friend! See? This is Twinkle! I just met her in the countryside!"

"But I thought unicorns only lived in storybooks!" Quick Draw cried as he walked over to the unicorn.

"I know," Huck replied. "But this one is real! Wanna take a look at her?"

Quick Draw looked really nervous, but he walked up to the unicorn to say hello.

"Howdy there, Twinkle! You sure look perty! Where did you come from?"
