24. A Fair Challenge

July, 1993

One morning, Yogi Bear was walking over to Huckleberry Hound's house because today was the summer fair in town. But when he arrived, he heard some music playing inside. So, he entered the house, and it turns out that Huck had the radio on, and he, Wally Gator, and Quick Draw McGraw were all dancing! There was a groovy song playing, and they found it really catchy!

"I'm getting the groove with you,

I wanna see you dancing too!

I love the sound of this catchy beat!

This song is really sweet! WHOO!"

They danced and danced as the song kept playing.

"Come on, Yogi!" Huck called. "Let's dance!"

Yogi looked at Huck and groaned. "Oh boy," he said. "Huck, turn it down!"

"What was that, Yogi?" Quick Draw asked.

"Turn it down!" Yogi repeated.

"What?" Wally asked.

Yogi went up to the radio, and turned it off.

"Awwwww!" Huck, Quick Draw, and Wally groaned as they stopped dancing.

"Sorry,fellas," Yogi said. "But I have something to tell you! I think you're really gonna like it!"

"What is it?" Huck asked.

"The summer fair is going on in town today!" Yogi exclaimed. "So, I came to ask you if you'd like to come with me!"

"The fair!?" Huck shouted. "Oh, yes! I'd love to go with you!"

"Yeah, I wanna see the animals!" Quick Draw added.

"And the rides!" Wally finished. "I'd love to go on the rides!"

"When do we get going?" Huck asked.

"Right now!" Yogi shouted. "Come on!"

And off they all ran to the fair. It took them about fifteen minutes to get there on foot, but when they arrived, they paid for their tickets, and started looking around.

"Look at this place!" Huck beamed. "I can't wait to go on rides!"

"I can't wait to play games!" Wally added.

"I can't wait to see the animals!" Quick Draw exclaimed.

"And I can't wait to eat!" Yogi finished.

"You sure have a one track stomach, Yogi!" Wally chuckled.

Huck sniffed the air. "Mmm! I can smell a lot of yummy food too!"

Quick Draw chuckled. "Well, you're a hound dog, and you're a good smeller!"

"Well, yes, so what can I say?" Huck giggled. "So, what should we do first?"

"There's some vendors right over there!" Wally replied, pointing to a vendor. "Why don't we see what they have?"

They went over to the vendors to see what kinds of things they could buy. There were wares, toys, instruments, and even some jewelry! There were also t-shirts, hats and other accessories for sale, as well as some hand-crafted statues, paintings, rocks, crystals, lanyards and other various trinkets. Huck looked around to see what he would like, when he saw a bunch of colorful plastic bottles.

"What's this?" he wondered. "This looks like a bottle of liquid."

"Oh, those are bubbles!" Quick Draw replied.

"Oh, I love bubbles!" Huck grinned. "I think I'll get a bottle! I can blow some big bubbles with these!"

So Huck bought the bubbles, and then opened the bottle,dipped the bubble wand into the mixture, and started blowing some big bubbles that floated into the air. Yogi decided to get some honey, Quick Draw got a ukulele, and Wally got himself a yo-yo. Then, they kept walking when they paused to watch some acrobats perform. They did flips, catches, and even a human pyramid! When they finished, the gang applauded.
