Previously on Of Wings and Warriors - Blaise stepped forward confidently, placing the hat on his head. After a brief moment, the hat shouted, "Slytherin!" The Slytherin table erupted in applause as Blaise joined them and sat next to Pansy.
Finally, the Sorting Ceremony concluded, and Dumbledore stood to address the students. "Welcome, everyone, to a new year at Hogwarts! Let the feast begin! Before you start, I would like to say a few words Nitwit, Blubber, Oddment and Tweak"
Food magically appeared on the tables, and the hall was filled with chatter and laughter. After the grand feast, the newly sorted Slytherin first-years followed their prefects through the maze-like corridors of Hogwarts to the Slytherin common room. The entrance was hidden behind a stretch of blank stone wall in the dungeons. The prefect muttered the password, "Pride," and the wall slid open to reveal a cozy, dimly lit room adorned with green and silver.
Harry, Draco, Hermione, Blaise, Pansy, and Theodore marvelled at the opulent surroundings. The common room had a high ceiling with low-hanging chandeliers, comfortable leather sofas, and a roaring fire that cast a warm glow over the room. The windows looked out into the depths of the Black Lake, giving the room an eerie, greenish light.
A prefect, looking over the group, clapped her hands to get their attention. "All right, first-years! Listen up. Boys' dormitories are to the left and girls' dormitories are to the right. Each room houses two students. The rooms are labelled with your blank plaques, Once you choose your room, your name will appear on the plaque and your trunk will appear at your bedside. If you have any questions or need anything, don't hesitate to ask us prefects or Professor Snape."
The other prefect then spoke up "One more very important announcement, Just please never ever sit on the common room couches. I understand that is what they should be used for but just don't. You will understand when you grow up", said the boy, grimacing.
The group dispersed, following the directions to their dormitories. Harry and Draco chose their room easily. The door had a polished silver plate engraved with their names: "Hadrian Gaunt and Draco Malfoy."
Inside, the room was elegantly furnished with two four-poster beds draped with emerald green hangings, matching tapestries on the walls, and a large wardrobe for their belongings.
Harry flopped onto his bed with a sigh of contentment. "This place is amazing," he said, looking around.
Meanwhile, Hermione and Pansy had found their room. Like the boys' room, it was tastefully decorated, with two identical beds and a large window that looked out into the murky waters of the lake. Hermione unpacked her books almost immediately, arranging them neatly on a shelf above her bed.
Next door, Blaise and Theodore were settling into their own room. Blaise was lounging on his bed, reading a book, while Theodore meticulously organized his belongings in the wardrobe.
"This will be our home for the next seven years," Theodore said thoughtfully. "I think they could've done better decoration."
Blaise nodded in agreement. "Who says we can't do a little bit of our own refurbishing."
