"You don't look okay -" Allie analyzes my face, and her expression still seems frightened.
I furrow my eyebrows, looking away uncomfortably. Allie continues to stare at me. "What -" She takes me by the arm and leads me to my own truck.
"Unlock it." She says sternly. I'm not exactly sure where this is going.
"Um, okay." I unlock the car and watch as she gets in before I get in myself. Allie opens the middle compartment and takes out a bottle of water. I hold my hands out to take it, but she does something else.
I watched as she uncapped the bottle and completely soakes me with it, splashing it onto my face.
"What the hell?!" I look at her, noticing her unbothered expression. "Why would you fucking do that?!"
She looks up at my face, now smiling.
"You think this is funny?" I brush my hair back out of my eyes.
"A little."
I watch as Allie takes off her shirt and dabs at my face with it. "That's one way to cool you down. You were really red."
I swallow hard. I didn't mean to stare, but the girl was wearing a red bra. "Mhm......red?"
"My eyes are up here -" Allie turns my face with her hand, directing my attention to her. "Do you always get so worked up over a fight?"
I snap back into reality, and not her breasts.
"Uh... yeah." I continue. "It happens when I get overwhelmed.""What did Jared do?"
"He was fouling."
"So you fought him?"
I pause to think. Maybe it did sound a bit stupid. But then again, I'll do whatever the heck I want. "Yeah."
"That's not how hockey works."
"And you would know that because...?"
"My mum used to play hockey with me." Allie frowns, fidgeting with her hands.
"You're fidgeting." I point out.
"So what?"
"You're upset." I look at her intently, trying to read her expression. I'm alright with body language, but reading people isn't my speciality. For some reason, it was easy to read Allie.
"It's fine." Allie puts her shirt over her head and tucks her hair behind her ear before stepping out of the car. "The game is still going on, Ryder would probably want us to watch him."
I bite my lip nervously. I hate seeing her upset.
-
We head back into the school hockey arena. I go back to my spot at the side of the rink, and Allie follows. A few of the guys protest, but all it took was a glare to get them to shut up.
Ryder is still playing. He seems to be on fire. Apparently, he's scored 4 of the 7 so far. Allie doesn't seem to be speaking to me.
"Do you want a drink?" I ask her, waiting for a response.
"Mhm." She replies after a few moments. "Robinsons."
"Flavour?" I get up, taking out my wallet.
"Apple an -"
"Rasperry. Yeah, I love that one, too." That gets a small smile from her.
I walk off towards the vending machine, pressing a few buttons and getting us both Robinsons. Coach walks over towards me, and I try speeding things up, but the drink takes forever to come out.
