Kunikida was deep in thought, thinking about his past. No one would ever imagine that him out of all people would have the past that he did. College dropout and the boyfriend of a wild one. That wild one was named Y/n L/n. She never slowed down for anyone no matter what, until she met Kunikida. At the time everything about her reeled him in, but those eyes were everything. She was almost hypnotizing to him. "You come out here a lot?" she asked him. "Not really, I just needed to get out," he explained, sipping his drink. A club truly wasn't somewhere where Kunikida would usually be found, but teaching was a little rough and he needed to let loose.

"Wanna dance?" Y/n was holding onto Kunikida's hands, gently pulling him to the dance floor. "Why not?" he gave in. "I never got your name did I?" Y/n asked. "Oh, I'm Kunikida Doppo," he responded. "It's Y/n, nice to meet you," she smiled at him. "Likewise," Kunikida smiled back. "So what brings you here?" Y/n asked, her eyes lighting up with every word she said. "...work, I needed to get away," he explained. "What do you do for living?" Y/n asked curiously. "I'm a math teacher," he said. "That's really cool, do you like it?" she asked. "I mean I like working with the kids, but sometimes the higher-ups get exhausting," he said. "I get that," Y/n related to him.

"What do you do?" Kunikida asked. "Oh...it doesn't matter, I have a lot of jobs," Y/n tried to avoid answering the question directly. The club was starting to get more busy and Y/n looked worried. "You trying get outta here?" she asked Kunikida, who was still holding onto her. "Sure, where to?" he asked. "Maybe my place," Y/n suggested. "That works, you live far?" Kunikida asked. "Not really" Y/n reassured him. They left the club and walked to Y/n's place. There was a slight breeze, but it wasn't freezing. "Do you like Yokohama?" Y/n asked, looking at the city lights. "I mean it's nice, what about you?" he enjoyed talking to Y/n. "I mean this is a beautiful city, but sometimes I wanna live somewhere else to just experience something else,"she explained. "What were you thinking?" Kunikida asked. "I don't know, just something different cause I don't wanna get bored," Y/n said, opening the door to her apartment.

Y/n looked at her light blue hair in the mirror and then took her shoes off. Her hair constantly changed color whenever she got bored with it. "I'm sorry, I usually don't do this," Kunikida was nervous. "You can leave, nothing's stopping you" she looked at Kunikida with those eyes again. "I think I'll stay," he became more confident. "...can I call you Doppo?" Y/n asked out of the blue. "Of course," he said without hesitation. Y/n got closer to him, their bodies almost touching. "To be honest, I don't usually do this either, but something's telling me to stick by you for a little longer," Y/n explained to him. "Got any ideas on what we can do?" Kunikida didn't sound like himself. "I have one," Y/n said before her lips crashed with his. One of her hands rested on his shoulder blade and the other one was on his cheek. Kunikida pulled Y/n's waist closer to his torso and smiled down at her between the kiss.

Y/n pulled off his glasses. "I think you should relax a bit," she had him under her control, with just her voice. Kunikida decided to spend the night with Y/n because he knew he would never find another woman like her. He feel asleep in her bed, arms wrapped tightly around her body. Although this entire situation was completely out of character for him, he had no regrets at the moment. The next morning the two of them woke up to the sun shining through the curtains. Y/n sat up and rubbed her eyes. Doppo looked at her a smiled softly. "Morning, beautiful," he said, still half asleep. "You barely know me yet you're already calling me beautiful," Y/n pulled her hair into a bun. Doppo noticed that Y/n's dirty blonde roots were coming in again. "I mean...look at you, you're so perfect and those eyes, oh my goodness," he went on.

"Don't talk about my eyes, you don't know what you're saying," Y/n tried changing the subject. "What do you mean?" Doppo turned his head in confusion. "You're gifted too, so I'll explain," Y/n knew. "How'd you know?" he was shocked. "Gifted carry themselves differently from regular people," she explained. "I guess you're right," Doppo thought about how almost every person with a gift had the power to take over the world if they wanted to. "I can have anyone under my control with my eyes, but I don't like doing that, I'd rather see people's authentic versions of themselves," Y/n went on. "So you don't use it...ever?" Doppo asked. "If it's really needed, I will, but that's only if I'm in danger or something," she explained.

To Doppo, Y/n was a mystery, but he wanted to know more about her. He really wanted to stay with her. Doppo sat up and wrapped his arms around Y/n. "What are you doing?" Y/n asked. "Enjoying what I have with me," he replied simply. "You're such a cornball," Y/n insulted him as if it was second nature. "Don't act like you don't like this," Doppo smiled at Y/n. "Whatever," Y/n couldn't help but smile back at him. The two decided to stay together and make it official after a couple of weeks and dated for a little over a year.

Three years later Doppo found himself reminiscing. Y/n was such a great woman, she was just...unstable at times. Very emotional and impulsive, and that simply didn't go well with Doppo's straight edged personality. "What's got your head in the clouds?" Atsushi asked his coworker. "Oh...it's nothing," Doppo denied. "Then why do you have the look of someone who's heartbroken?" Dazai chimed in. "I don't have a heartbroken look on my face," he replied too quickly. "...sooooo who was the special lady?" Dazai rested his hands on his face and kicked his feet like a school girl. Doppo rolled his eyes and continued to work. "You're not denying anything," Dazai said. "Because there isn't anything to deny," Doppo replied too quickly once again. Atsushi and Dazai exchanged a glance. "It doesn't matter anymore, it was a long time ago" Doppo took his mind off Y/n.
