The next morning Y/n woke up with Kaya holding onto her torso. Not wanting to wake her daughter up, Y/n stayed where she was and gently stroked Kaya's hair as she slept. No matter how many years had passed by, Kaya would always have this close relationship with her mother and that warmed Y/n's heart. All she needed in this world was her baby girl, but something plagued her mind. Kunikida's eagerness to meet with Kaya made Y/n scared. She had done her research and Y/n knew about the Port Mafia and the Guild and how they had conflicts with the Armed Detective Agency. Y/n knew Kunikida would put his life on the line in a heartbeat, because that's just the person he was.
That also meant that the people closest to him were also at risk, Y/n and Kaya were the two people outside of work who were the closest to Kunikida. Y/n was well aware that these organizations wouldn't hesitate to use her or her daughter if needed. It was risky enough for the Armed Detective to know about Kaya, but if this information got into the wrong hands, it would be both deadly and dangerous for both Y/n and Kaya. As the two were laying in bed, Y/n heard the front door open and she instantly sat up, holding Kaya tightly and ready for a fight. She watched as her doorknob turned and was nervous to see who was on the other side of it.
"Good morning Y/n! We brou-" Dazai was cut off by a pillow being thrown at his face full speed. "What the hell are you doing in my house?" Y/n's eyes glowed purple. Dazai moved the pillow from his face and panicked when he saw how angry Y/n was. "Whoa whoa whoa, calm down," he squeezed onto her forearm, watching as her eyes faded to brown. "Take a walk off the balcony," Y/n said, staring Dazai down. She watched him for a few moments and was confused.
"You see, I'm gifted too and my gift makes other gifted unable to use their gift," Dazai explained as he got up. "Lucky you, now tell me why you're here?" Y/n asked again. "Dazai you damn idiot what are you doing?!" Y/n heard Kunikida's voice. "You're here too?!" Y/n yelled. "Uhm...I'm here too," the grey haired boy said to her. "You're making things worse, Atsushi," Kunikida hit him on the top of his head. "Ow! That hurts!" he held his head. "Ten seconds to explain or you're all six feet under," Y/n put her hands on her hips. "Alright alright alright, we decided to surprise you with breakfast and talk things over again, but things went south," Kunikida explained before Y/n killed him.
"...and you didn't think it'd be courteous to at least call to give me a heads up?" Y/n asked. "I wasn't sure if you blocked me," Kunikida made up an excuse. "Did you even try?" Y/n asked, eyebrows raised. "...no," he said, looking away from her. "Maybe you should try," Y/n's sarcastic smile made everyone start sweating. "I think it's fine now," Kunikida tried to avoid what was coming. "No, try," Y/n said, tilting her head slightly, trying her best to stay calm. Kunikida pulled out his phone and dialed Y/n's number. After a few seconds, Y/n's phone started ringing. "You see, this could've been avoided," Y/n said before walking back to her room to check on Kaya.
She was still sleeping soundly, which gave Y/n a comforting feeling as she went to her bathroom and freshened up. Y/n came back out of her room and saw all three of them sitting down at Y/n's table with the breakfast ready for her. They didn't touch the food and it seemed like they were waiting for Y/n. She had a seat and waited for them to start eating. "So are you gonna keep staring at me or are you gonna eat too? Because I surely can't eat all of this food," Y/n said. "You're right Miss Y/n," Atsushi was the first one to speak before picking up a bowl of rice and chopsticks. "So...what else are you gonna say to try and convince me?" Y/n asked Kunikida. Every word that spewed out seemed like a verbal attack and quite frankly, Kunikida didn't know how to respond half the time.
"We promise that Kaya will be safe, no matter what, no one could ever hurt her," he explained to Y/n. "What makes you so sure?" Y/n asked calmly. No one said anything for a few moments. Just as Kunikida opened his mouth to speak, someone cut him off. "Mommy where are you?" Kaya sounded distressed. "I'm in the dining room," Y/n quickly responded to her daughter. Tiny little footsteps made their way to the table. "Who are they?" Kaya asked. "I'll explain in a minute are you hungry?" Y/n asked. "Yeah," Kaya responded. Y/n pulled the little girl into her lap and she grabbed a plate of omurice. "We'll continue this conversation once my daughter is done eating," Y/n said.
When Kunkida saw Kaya, his gaze softened so much that it shocked everyone. He didn't look stressed out for once in his life, instead his eyes lit up when he saw his little girl. "Kaya...do you know who I am?" he asked, cautiously. Y/n gave him a look, but it didn't bother him. "No?" Kaya looked at him with a confused stare. "Look at our hair...and our eyes, Kaya you're my girl," Kunikida explained, almost tearing up. "You're my daddy?" Kaya asked. "Yes, I'm your daddy and you're my girl Kaya," he could barely hold himself together. Kunikida then got up and stood next to Y/n and Kaya.
"I'm sorry Y/n, can I hold her, I want a better look at my daughter," Y/n only saw him this emotional once. "Daddy," Kaya reached out to him and Kunikida held her in his hands, looking into the same eyes that he had. "I think we'll give him some time with you and your daughter Miss Y/n," Atsushi said before getting up from the table. "I'd appreciate that," Y/n said.
As the young man was taking his leave with Dazai, he noticed all the pictures Y/n had of her and Kaya and it made him realize how hard Y/n had worked for Kaya. In that moment, Atsushi knew she was a good mother and would probably kill to have someone like that in his life to raise him. "Y/n...she's perfect," Kunikida looked up at Y/n. "Since the day she came here she's been perfect," she replied without hesitation.
