It had been about a year since Y/n and Doppo started dating. It was a decent relationship, both of them love and respected one another and would only argue occasionally. As lovely as the relationship was, Y/n had realized that she was holding Doppo back. He had greater potential, and she wanted the best for him even if it meant leaving him. "Doppo, can I talk to you?" Y/n asked nervously. "Of course, what's wrong?" he asked, resting his hand on Y/n's cheek. Y/n put her hand on Doppo's. "You know I love you right?" Y/n asked. "Of course I know that and you know I love you too," Doppo replied to her. "Well, I always want what's best for you," Y/n continued, breaking eye contact. "What are you trying to say?" Doppo made Y/n look him in the eyes again. "Doppo listen, you have a brighter future than me...and I don't wanna be the one that holds you back," it broke Y/n's heart looking at Doppo's heartbroken face.
She was the one breaking Doppo's heart and her own in that moment. "I can keep you here with me, I don't wanna do this alone," Doppo tried to convince Y/n to stay with him. "I know, but it's better if we go our own separate ways, we still have a lot to learn and we need to grow," Y/n's voice was breaking with every word. "You're right Y/n, but I want you to know that you'll always be a part of me. Thank you for the time we spent together," Doppo gave Y/n a saddened smile before getting up to pack his things. Y/n knew it was the right choice, but it hurt so much seeing Doppo quietly pack up all of his things, holding back his tears. Doppo was also a huge part of Y/n and she grew so much because of him, but he couldn't help her become the greatest version of herself.
"I'm gonna go," Doppo said, standing by the door. "Wait," Y/n ran to him and gave him one last hug before he left. The tears were pooling in her eyes, but she let go. As soon as the door closed, Y/n sank into the ground and started sobbing her eyes out. She didn't care how loud she was, Y/n let it all out until she eventually fell asleep on the ground, not moving for a couple of hours. The next morning she got up and put herself together a little more. She brushed her teeth and then took a shower. When Y/n got out, she noticed how much her hair had grown, half of it was blue and the other half was dirty blonde. She pulled out a pair of scissors and cut off all of the blue, then she pulled the rest of her hair into a ponytail.
The next couple of days were the hardest for Y/n, she bawled her eyes out almost all the time and when she wasn't she was sitting in bed with no thoughts. After about a week or two she was feeling better, but she was always nauseous and her appetite had changed a lot. Y/n was noticeably slimmer and didn't have much of an appetite. Because it had been going on for so long and nothing seemed to help, she made a trip to the pharmacy. When Y/n came back, she went straight to the bathroom and sat on the toilet, reading the instructions for the pregnancy before taking it. She sat on the bathroom floor for what felt like hours, but she was too scared to see the results.
Y/n finally convinced herself to look at the results and she almost dropped the test when she saw the result. Two faint lines appeared on the pregnancy test and Y/n realized that she was going to do this all by herself. That meant no more working at clubs, no more unstable jobs and no more risk taking. All of these things were things that weren't usual in Y/n's life, but she needed to make them usual things in her life. Y/n was slightly confused because her and Doppo were always as safe as they could possibly be, yet Y/n was pregnant all alone in her bathroom. Tears ran down Y/n's cheek yet again. She felt as if her life was ending, nothing was going right and she had zero control over the situation.
Y/n scheduled appointments with her doctors, so she could do the right thing for her baby. The only thing that she could've done was try her hardest to raise this baby the best she could, while also getting a good job to provide for the two of them. It wasn't the smoothest path, but it was Y/n's nonetheless and she had to make the best out of circumstances even when all odds were against her. At her job interview, Y/n tried her absolute hardest to stay professional and look her best. Y/n was only nineteen and yet there she was dressed in a white button down with khaki slacks on trying to look her best for her job interview at a bank. She barely had any experience or requirements, but she was beyond desperate.
"So you've lived in Yokohama all this time?" the interviewer asked. Y/n nodded anxiously. "You've been working in some questionable fields in the past couple of fields, why are you now choosing something more...stable?" he asked. "Well...I think I need some more stability in my life as I grow so my future becomes a little more brighter," Y/n explained, avoiding talking about her pregnancy. "Are you good with others?" the interviewer asked. "I think I am," Y/n replied. "Alright one more thing, you've had multiple visits to the doctor in the past couple of weeks, are you in good health?" he asked. "Yeah...I'm better now, I was just a little sick, that's all," Y/n was sweating a little bit, but still sticking to her lie. "Well I think that's all I have for you, I'll add you to the schedule and we'll see how well you do," the interviewer smiled at Y/n. She felt a sense of relief knowing that things were going to finally change and life would slowly get better.
