A couple of months had gone by and Kaya and Y/n quickly adjusted to living with Doppo. The house was a lot more lively now and everyone was happier. The day was December fifth and it was the day Kaya turned four. The three of them laid in bed, Doppo being the first to wake up, then Y/n. "Good morning, my love," he smiled at Y/n. "Morning," Y/n softly spoke. "Big day, isn't it?" Doppo said. "Yeah, I can't believe it," Y/n said. "Doppo raised his eyebrows, "Neither can I."
Just a couple months ago, he didn't know about Kaya's existence, but now he lived with both Y/n and Kaya and wouldn't want it any other way. "I'm gonna make breakfast," Doppo finally got up. "Alright," Y/n said before grabbing her phone.

Good Morning Miss Y/n!
I'll have the cake dropped off by 11Thank you so much!
Y/n and Doppo were working extremely hard to make this an amazing birthday for Kaya, it was the first time she'd celebrate with both of her parents, so it was truly special. Once Y/n was done brushing her teeth, she made a cup of coffee for her and Doppo. "How are those waffles coming along?" she asked. "I'm almost done, do you think she'd want chocolate chips in them?" he asked. "I think she'd like it," Y/n said. She went to the fridge and got out the orange juice, whipped cream and the syrup. Y/n pour a glass of orange juice for Kaya, who'd be up soon, then warmed up the syrup.
"You're quiet," Doppo said. "I'm always quiet," she replied. "Quieter than usual, talk to me," he said. "I want this to be perfect for Kaya," Y/n said. "And it will be, I know how hard you worked for this," Doppo said before kissing Y/n's cheek. The two of them then heard tiny footsteps reach the kitchen. "Happy birthday!" they said in unison. "Thanks mommy, thanks daddy," Kaya said before sitting at the table, waiting for her breakfast. "We made you waffles, do you want chocolate chip or regular?" Doppo asked. "I'll have chocolate chip," Kaya said. "Do you want syrup too?" Y/n asked. "Yes!" Kaya smiled. Y/n and Doppo got a plate ready for Kaya and watched her eat.
"What do you wanna do today?" Y/n asked. "Can we stay home and watch movies...and make a pillow fort too!" Kaya's eyes lit up. "Sure! Whatever you want to do, it's your special day," Y/n responded quickly. Doppo was confused because he knew that Y/n was expecting Kaya to say something more than that. At the same time, he couldn't blame her for wanting to stay in because of how hectic her life was a couple of months ago.
After breakfast, Y/n got the movies set up and Doppo helped Kaya build a pillow fort. He took the couch cushions off and made walls with them and got a bunch of blankets and made a tent. He lit up the fort by getting some tea lights and putting them in there. After that, he got some snacks from the kitchen. "Do you like it Kaya?" he asked. "I love it daddy!" she smiled brightly. Before Y/n could get into the pillow fort, the doorbell rang. "I'll get it," she spoke.
When Y/n opened the door Atsushi was there with the cake. "Thank you so much," Y/n took the cake from him. "Of course, tell her happy birthday for me," Atsushi said before taking his leave. Y/n put the cake on the counter then entered the pillow fort. "What are we watching?" she asked. "Ponyo," Doppo and Kaya said in unison. "All right then," Y/n said before starting the movie. She rested her head on Doppo's shoulder and Kaya sat in his lap. That day, they didn't do much, but it was so calming and they all felt warm inside. Around six, their marathon of movies stopped and Doppo and Y/n sang happy birthday to Kaya.
They sat her around the table and showed her the cake. It was light blue with white details on it and it had Kaya's name on it with hearts around it. "It's your favorite, carrot cake," Y/n said. "Thank you so much mommy," Kaya said. Doppo lit four candles on the cake and the two of them sang softly for Kaya. Y/n managed to record everything. At around nine, Kaya had fallen asleep and Doppo tucked her into bed.
As that was going on, Y/n took a shower and got ready for bed herself. She felt satisfied with herself, Y/n was able to give her daughter such an amazing birthday and she wasn't alone for the first time in years. "What has you in such deep thought?" Doppo asked. "Thank you," Y/n said. "For what?" he asked another question. "For being here, I wouldn't have been able to do this without you, I hope you know I really appreciate you," Y/n explained. "I kinda got the clue when you moved in with me again," Doppo cracked a joke. Y/n smiled softly. "But in all honesty, you did an amazing job, you should be proud," Doppo's hand rested on Y/n's cheek. "You're an amazing mother...and hopefully an amazing wife one day," he continued.
Y/n raised her head quickly, processing what Doppo had just said. "I always knew...I always knew I wanted to make you my wife, since the moment we met at that club, with that blue hair of yours," Doppo explained. Y/n's cheeks got red and she touched her hair. "I like the brunette though," Doppo's hand touched Y/n's. "...so does this mean you want to get married?" Y/n asked. "Of course it does, I was just waiting for the right moment, I didn't want to catch you off guard," he explained.
"So you've waited almost five years for me to come back to you?" Y/n asked. "Absolutely, it was worth the wait," Doppo kissed Y/n. Her hand reached for the back of his neck and he pulled Y/n closer to him by the waist. "Don't let go," she whispered to him. Doppo pulled away and watched as Y/n's cheeks turned red, she couldn't pull him back into a kiss and the frustration amused Doppo.
Just then, they heard tiny footsteps come to their door. "Mommy my tummy hurts," Kaya whined.
