Coriolanus Snow's POV:
I'm sitting in my penthouse apartment as I talk to Tigris about Charlotte. "I have no hope" I pace as she sits at her vanity desk. "You saw her in that interview, she's clearly underfed, too small, too naive and worst of all, I think she's dumb" I rant.

"You are too harsh on her" Tigris defends as I pace around the room, "She's just a girl who's been taken from everything she knows and is being expected to fight and kill, imagine how she's feeling, Coryo."

"I tried but she's useless, there is no way she will ever win, she can't be more than 50kg and is barely up to my chest. I told her she was making herself a target and she cried, like a child" I snap, trying to understand how someone can be that gorgeous and stupid at the same time.

"She's appealing to the people but she's gonna get herself killed if she's not careful. I won before with the runt of the litter from district 12 but this girl has even lower odds" I rant, annoyed once more that I got a weak one.

"Charlotte could very well win, you just have to start thinking she can. She's probably just scared and homesick and starving, you know they don't feed them on those trains" Tigris tries to reason, "see her tomorrow before the interviews and talk to her, warn her that everything is different this year, the arena is different and the rules are constantly changing."

"I'll bring her food, water, something pretty. Get her on my side, fatten her up a bit before the arena, maybe then she'll stand a physical chance against them" I decide.

"Fatten her up?" Tigris scoffs at my words. "I have to fatten her up if I want her to survive, like you said she probably hasn't eaten in days and already looks underfed albeit gorgeous" I explain, knowing she is likely starving, "I'll bring her a sandwich and some treats tomorrow."

"What's the arena this year?" Tigris asks, "they've built a new one, haven't they?"

"It's an arctic one with cameras everywhere so I'll be able to see her at all times and they've finally sorted the problems with the drones which means I can send her water and food" I smile for the first time properly since I left the zoo.

"Do you know how she'll do?" my cousin asks as I think of how Charlotte will do. "She's quite small but she looks fast, hopefully she can run" I consider, "or maybe climbing but that might be difficult in that dress of her's."

"Talk to her, you are allowed to view the arena beforehand for fifteen minutes so think of an escape plan" Tigris suggests, "have you considered her making any allies? She's quite sweet so I'm sure plenty of them would be good to begin with."

"I'll think about it but I just don't need her getting close to someone and them manipulating her or tricking her, Charlotte doesn't seem the smartest of the lot" I say, considering her options, maybe at the start allies are good but once a couple are dead then she's gotta split.

"Goodnight, cousin" I smile, before walking to my room and deciding to try to sleep so at least one of us is in a proper state of mind.

I sit in my bed, thinking of Charlotte right now. She's hopefully getting a few hours rest so she is ready for her interview tomorrow with Lucky Flickerman. I can just imagine her talking to the other tributes, they've probably already realised just how naive she is. I need to keep her safe.

"Stupid girl" I mumble.
