Charlotte Addam's POV:
I struggle to sleep much during the night after what Coriolanus said. Luckily for me, Lucas and I took turns to sleep so I was occupied watching incase one of the tributes decides to attack anyone early.

The sun shines into the cage when Lucas wakes me up. I'd fallen asleep for a few hours after much overthinking of the games but I know soon enough people will be showing up. All I can hope is they will refrain from any more cameras.

Slowly I sit up, having been resting against Lucas accidentally. I notice there are no peacekeepers yet so I use it as a minute to fix myself tidier. I fix my hair as I look into the small compact mirror.

I could only hope I couldn't have any trouble because I had kept the mirror and lipgloss on me as I know all of the other tributes have also managed to keep small items on them. I quickly apply the light pink lip gloss before putting them into the top of my corset to hide them like most people do during the reaping.

After a while, people begin to show up when all the mentors do, Coriolanus first of them all. I slowly walk up to him, "good morning, mister" I smile up at him. "Morning to you as well, sleep well?" he asks as I shrug slightly.

"I brought you food" Coriolanus says, handing me a napkin and as I open it, I can see a sandwich, slices of apple and two biscuit. "Thank you, so much, really, mister" I smile up at him, not having eaten since the reaping. I wave Lucas over and offer him half the sandwich.

"I'm not hungry, you eat it" Lucas says despite me knowing he's been hungry since the train. "I've been listening to your stomach growl since day 2 of the train, eat it please, Lucas" I offer when finally he accepts it and sits down nearby.

"Thank you, mister, this means a lot" I smile at Coriolanus, taking a bite of my half of the sandwich. "You hungry?" I ask as I see his gaze as I take a bite. "No, I just didn't have time for breakfast" he says which causes me to frown and hand him one of the biscuits, "go on, eat, please" I offer once more as we both sit on opposite sides of the bars.

We both crouch and slowly eat the food. "Are you ready for your interview?" he asks as I slowly take a small bite of the apple. "Hopefully, do you know what they'll be asking me?" I smile.

"They usually ask about family, what you're excited for the games and about your clothes, it's quite basic questions so use them to your advantage, doll, make the crowd fall in love that's how you get your sponsors" Coriolanus explains.

"Maybe mention your family, they love that, do you have siblings?" he asks me. "I have four older siblings and two younger" I answer. "The boy who ran up during the reaping, is he one of them?" Coriolanus asks with a soft smile.

"He's the youngest, Sammy, my absolute favourite and honestly I'm his favourite as well. I remember at school they ask who his hero is and he always says me" I giggle, thinking of Sammy with some hope that I may see him one day if I survive.

"And your others, doll?" he asks with an amused grin. "Johnny 26, Finnlay 24, Abigail 21, Oliver 19, Beatrice 11 and Sammy 6. Abi and Sammy are my favourites but I do love them all, Abi actually made this dress for me" I smile, "do you have siblings?"

"None, I nearly had a baby sister but my mother died in childbirth and she didn't survive" Coriolanus speaks as I suddenly feel bad for asking, "but I did grow up with my cousin, Tigris, she is a really talented designer and my biggest supporter since childhood."

"Maybe Tigris and Abigail ought to meet one day" I giggle, trying to keep it happy. "I'd certainly love to see where you were raised, doll" he smile genuinely for the first time of the day.

"If I survive this, that'll be the first thing I do. My mother will certainly be happy if I brought home a pretty Capitol boy" I smile without a second thought. "I haven't been a boy in quite a few years, doll" Coriolanus teases.

"Are you not an Academy graduate, mister?" I ask, confused. "I'm a university student but that's not exactly what I meant" Coriolanus explains and suddenly I feel dumb.

"In that case I apologise, Mr pretty Capitol man" I correct myself. He laughs at my words before leaning closer to whisper, "have you considered your strategy in the arena?"

"I- I was going to ask you" I confess, despite growing up on a farm, I know I'm not the strongest. "Do you have any outdoors skills? Something plant related or maybe running, climbing, knife throwing?" Coriolanus suggests.

"Oh, oh, I do know enough about plants to know the poisonous ones, mister" I smile, "and I'm on the cross country team at school."

"That might just be your saving grace but remember running won't get you everywhere."
