Chapter 24

DELLA

During the journey till Arrdiva I didn't talked to Lucian. I knew I needed some time. We planned to stay in Arrdiva for two days then go back to elors. I stayed with Alice while Lucian opted an inn. I told her about everything that happened in this week. It was her who told me that Selene and Adonis might be my real parents. Even though my parents were not fair to me, they are not as cruel to steal someone else's daughter. As a rich count's daughter she had some meeting and went for that. But the thought of selene and Adonis was something that made me uneasy. Why would I be so attracted to a distant relative? Why did I call her mom in my memories? Am I imagining things or it actually happened? ... I felt the heaviness inside my head. I went to the back portion of her mansion. It was facing the Arrdivian mountains. It was actually close to that mountain. Everybody feared mythical creatures and beasts of that mountain but here my friend and her grandma living peacefully.
Alice always had strong opinions and intuitions. She was never wrong. I let the gentle breeze touch my face as I opened the window. Alice always spents her time here, facing the mountain. She said she felt safe sitting here. Like someone will protect her from the mountain. She was more than just delusional. No wonder we are friends. 2 days passed like nothing. Before leaving with Lucian she called me to her favourite window spot and said, " Della, I think you have some kind of authority or power. That's why he didn't want you to sign on anything. Your parents might manipulate you do something like that. Be careful". With this I went back with Lucian and we talked about Northern Arrdiva's climate and how his home looked like so that I can tell them a fake story.
                           Lucian already gave my father some money because he said he was in a hurry to marry me and was in need of money, so he gave him money and he shut up. His daughter went missing for a week and he wasn't even bothered by it, or maybe as Alice said I may not be their real daughter. I told this to Lucian, " Stay close to the King. He will set you free ". I didn't understand, but we were already infront of my home. He went back without talking much with my parents. As practiced I told my mom about days with Lucian and asked , "why didn't you came for me? I literally went missing, I didn't inform you anything about where I was going ". She was calm as always and with disappointment in her eyes " we know you were with Lucian, where else you will go?". I didn't know how to react to that so I went back to my room. I hope everything went well with queen and Zander.
