Mira had kicked him out.

His safe space in this world had always been the Rohan apartment, whenever Peter Parker was worried, nervous, or anxious he had sought out refuge by appearing at Mira's window. She had never turned him away, always giving him a hot meal and a shoulder to lean on. That was until tonight. She had offered him the shoulder to lean on only for him to screw it all up with his phrasing.

What the hell had he been thinking?

Mira was already dealing with so much, constantly trying to decipher what was real and what wasn't.

People had used her entire life, used her for her smarts, her relationship with Mr Stark or her powers and with one sentence he had made her think that he was doing the same. He was supposed to be the one person who would never use her, but he had messed up everything.

Over a year of building trust only for one sentence to ruin it all thanks to all the damage her father had caused.

Her father had used her; Mira had slowly started to believe that everyone was using her and he had just fed into that distrust by asking for her to make him a new suit. He hadn't thought about what Ross was saying to her or about the danger he had put her in by lying, all he had been able to think about was the loss of his suit.

Putting it over the girl he adored since the moment she tapped that purple glitter gel pen against his arm.

With May finally asleep, Peter could do nothing but perch on the fire escape, staring out into the distance. Eyes glued to what would soon no longer be Avengers Tower. He couldn't stop thinking about how hurt Mira had appeared when he had asked her to make him a new suit. Mira had faced her darkness and emerged from the ruins, she had faced her father and had clawed her way back to the surface, yet with one statement he had unravelled a lot of that.

The lives of Mira Rohan and Peter Parker had never been simple.

Yet it felt different this time.

Whenever they had argued, Peter had been sure she would forgive him, this time, he wasn't too sure.

Blood didn't mean much to Mira, Peter knew that, but honesty meant the world to her. Even if she had lied to him about the deal she had cut, it was nothing compared to the lies he had told to her.

Leaning back against the metal railing, he hesitantly pulled his phone out of his pocket. It had been a few hours and he knew Mira would probably still be up, somewhere in the Bronx or Brooklyn patrolling the streets, Ross ordering her to try and track down where the Vulture and his men had vanished to.

He froze as he spotted the voicemail message appear on his screen.

A voicemail from Mira Rohan.

Gulping he raised the phone to his ear, unable to do anything but laugh as he heard Mira's frustrated little scream.
