Peter Parker was freaking out.

Pacing back and forth in Ned's living room, his best friend face down on the couch clutching his head in agony wincing at every little sound, Peter was unable to stop replaying his moment with Mira on the terrace outside the bar last night over and over again.

He had almost kissed Mira.

Mira had leaned in!

Or at least he was pretty sure she had been leaning in too.

His brain was ready to explode!

Blood vessels were at a boiling point as his mind refused to stop going every tiny second of that conversation then the almost kiss.

Would he have kissed her if Ned didn't stumble over to them?

YES.

God, he wanted to throw up.

Not because the idea of kissing Mira made him sick but more just how complicated this could make things. He liked Mira, he really liked her, but that didn't mean he wasn't completely petrified of seeing her. If Ned hadn't shown up drunk and they had kissed, they could have discussed it after and decided where they stood. While they were both nervous people when it came to romance and being open about romantic feelings, they both valued their friendship so much that there was no way they wouldn't have awkwardly stuttered trying to manoeuvre around how or if this would change how things worked between them.

But Ned had completely ruined the moment which meant he and Mira were now awkwardly drifting in the air.

They hadn't spoken since she had helped him get Ned into the cab so he could take his drunk lightweight form home.

With her heading to Ireland on a mission later today meaning she would be unreachable, he was unable to talk to her, leaving his mind spinning, overthinking every little detail about yesterday and all of the ways pursuing Mira could end up going up in flames. His brain kept jumping between so many different conflicted emotions about last night. Embarrassed, excited, terrified and even a little guilty for being too scared to text her this morning.

Was it a good thing that Ned had interrupted them?

Would kissing her have been a mistake?

He had really-really wanted to kiss her last night to the point where he had been ready to punch Ned for interrupting.

Over a year of trying to figure out if he was going to tell her how he felt, and while he had been scared he had managed to gain some confidence to move to finally do what he had been dreaming about for so long only for Ned to bring the dream to a screeching halt, leaving his brain twisted and unsure now.
