A date.

His first ever date.

It was safe to say Peter Parker was absolutely petrified of screwing up tonight. No matter how many conversations he had with May asking for advice or the number of times he went over the list of first date etiquette that Mira had drilled into his head over the past year which she would go over every time he tried and failed to ask Liz out he was still terrified.

How Mira knew so much about dating he wasn't too sure given she hadn't ever mentioned any guys from St Louis but to be honest, he didn't want to know.

It made him feel weird thinking about Mira dating.

Mira was one of his best friends, it wasn't normal for him to feel uncomfortable about the mere prospect that she might have already been on her first date back in St Louis.

With god knows who.

His stomach churned slightly only for panic to settle in once again, his mind quickly refocusing as May pulled the car over in front of Liz's house. He could not be thinking about the weird changes that had been happening in his friendship with Mira right now, he shouldn't be thinking about her at all. He was about to go on his first date with a girl he had liked for years, not screwing up had to be his main point of focus right now.

He shouldn't be thinking about Mira!

Or how pretty she looked in her purple and white dress and how adorable it was when she clutched that stuffed dragon to her chest while playing with the mixture of charms on her bracelet. Her overthinking brain needing to focus on the feel of the cold metal against her fingertips to keep herself centred so she didn't go into hyperdrive mode.

Just as May put the car into park, Peter turned to her, hands shaking around the corsage he was meant to give to give to Liz.

Was it normal to be freaking out this much?

"It's game day. So, what's the plan?"

Peter swallowed nervously, going through the list again in his head "Open the door for her."

May hummed in approval.

"Tell her she looks nice, but not too much because that's creepy."

"Don't be creepy." May agreed.

"No, and uh, when I dance with her, I'm putting my hands on her hips."

May grinned in success "Good, just, not as low as you had them on Mira—" He was more comfortable around Mira, so it made sense that he had felt more comfortable with his arms wrapped around her "Also, if you freak out, don't immediately dart over to Mira for help. Going to another girl while on a date...not a good idea."

That officially ripped away his plans of asking Mira for advice if he started panicking at the dance.

"Right."

"You've got this."

Peter really hoped she was right "I got this."
