Joel

Joel could hear the footsteps and voices above him. He gripped the knife yn had put in hand tighter in his grip. He needed to move; he needed to get up. He had to find the girls and make sure they're alright. So that's what he did; he forced himself to stand. It hurt like hell, and he was weak. He vaguely remembers Ellie and yn talking about some kind of antibiotic. His hand laid over his wound as he moved around. One of the assholes above had figured out someone was down here and opened the door.

Joel hid in the shadows, waiting for the perfect opportunity to take him out. While his back was turned, Joel came out from the shadows, grabbed him, and slit his throat before he could even yell for help. Then he slowly made his way upstairs and took out the other still lingering around; well, all of them but two. He needed to know where they had his girls. He had one by sitting against the wall, hands and feet tied. The other guy he had strapped to a chair.

He asked where they had the girls, and they didn't give him an answer at first. So he changed things up and slammed his knife into the chair guy's leg. He let out a blood curdling scream, and Joel pulled it back out. He put the handle in the asshole’s mouth and pulled open a map. “Tell me where they are!” The guy pointed the tip of the blood knife to a spot on the map, and Joel pulled it back, looking at where a small blood stain was now. He killed both men before heading out to look for Yn and Ellie.

Yn

Shit hit the fan after Ellie broke David's finger. He's lucky I didn't reach through the bars and smash his face against them for the crude comments he made. The way he suggested he and Ellie would make “a great team.” The way he looked her up and down. He wasn't happy when she broke his finger, storming out and slamming the door. A few minutes later, he was coming back in with another asshole. One held me back as they took Ellie out of the cell and strapped her to the table just outside the cell door. I was cursing and screaming at them, threatening to kill them.

At some point, Ellie bit the guy with the butcher knife, causing him to drop it. “Fucking bitch!” Ellie started to laugh, “I'm infected you fucking asshole!” That was one way to fuck with someone's head. The guy she bit started to freak out. “She's not lying, lifting her sleeve up!” David glared at me but pushed her sleeves up and found the healed bit mark. What I didn't see coming was Ellie getting a hold of the butcher knife and killing the guy she bit.

She was able to get free and knock David back into the wall. His head bounced off the wall knocking him unconscious. Ellie grabbed his keys and unlocked the cell door. Once the door opened we ran. We ran through the door and into some kind of shop. Just as we ran out the back door, David was yelling after us that he would catch us eventually. I was going to make sure that never happens.

We ran into the next shop, looking around it looks like it was once a pet story maybe. We could hear David yelling about us escaping and for the men standing around outside to keep a look out for us. That when they find us to bring us to him. We quietly snuck through the store  keeping an eye on the dark shape outside the windows. The snow was starting to fall again, wind picking up causing the snow to swirl around. The heavier the snow fell, the harder it was to see. But that meant it would be a little easier for Ellie and I to sneak around.

We jumped through a window frame that the glass had been completely broken out of and into the store. Ellie was in the lead, ducking into an office. I followed behind her as she walked through a doorway and across a short hall to another office. We were looking around for anything that we could use as weapons, when voices froze us in place. They were inside the store with us. I looked up and nudged Ellie, pointing my finger to the window above us. She climbed up onto the overturned filing cabinet, careful not to make too much noise and pulled herself up with me following shortly after.

It had brought us to an alleyway. We quickly hide beside a dumpster as voices grow closer. something cold was pressed into my hand and I looked down to see Ellis's knife. I flipped it open, gripped the handle tight, and listened. After a few minutes I looked around the dumpster, spotting one guy standing at the end of the alley. Ellie tapped my shoulder and I turned my head. She held up a piece of a brick, stepped around me and threw it down the alley. My eyes widened and I glared at her. She quickly pressed her back against the wall beside the dumpster and I pressed my to the side of it.

The guy standing at the end of the alley was slowly making his way towards us. I crouched down and quickly looked around the dumpster to see where he was. His back was turned towards me but he was standing right in front of the dumpster, I took that as my queue. I slowly stood, stepping out behind him, knife gripped in my hand, bringing it up and slamming it into the side of his neck. He let out a gurgling gasp, hand reaching up to press to his neck. He turned around, eyes wide, looking dead in the eye. He opened his mouth to yell to his little buddies but wasn't quick enough. In one fluid motion and zero fucks to give, I slit his throat before he could even blink.

The gun in his hand dropped to the ground as he brought both hands up to his throat. Blood poured around his fingers like a waterfall; a thick red waterfall. The light faded from his eyes and he dropped to his knees. The snow below him turned dark red, kind of like a cherry snow cone. I bent down and picked the revolver, checking to see how much ammo it had, and handed it to Ellie. “Holy shit,” she whispered, looking down at the now dead man. “Stay behind me.” I told her and made my way to the end of the alley. The snow was swirling around with the wind making it almost impossible to see. But it could see we had at least three more to take care of.
