Every month, Yoongi had to visit the doctor for a pregnancy check-up, and it had been five months since his boyfriend last accompanied him. While Yoongi didn't expect him to come along anymore, he still asked every time.

This time was no different, but unlike previous occasions when his boyfriend offered various excuses and apologies, this time he snapped. He lashed out at Yoongi, venting his frustration about the constant questioning and belittling Yoongi's presence at the appointments because he wasn't the one pregnant. The outburst left Yoongi shaken and hurt, the hurtful words echoing in his mind long after the argument had ended.

Yoongi listened quietly, consumed by anxiety and a desperate longing for the confrontation to end. His wish was granted when his boyfriend stormed out of the house with a curt "Don't wait for me" and a door slam.

Taking a deep breath to calm his nerves, Yoongi retrieved his bag containing his documents and a few snacks for the appointment. As he opened the door, his eyes widened in surprise at the sight of his neighbor hurrying away from Yoongi's front door into his own apartment, which had been left wide open. Yoongi's curiosity piqued, and he couldn't help but wonder what was going on.

Caught red-handed, Namjoon turned around and let out an awkward laugh, scratching the back of his neck nervously. Meanwhile, Yoongi remained frozen in place, trying to make sense of the situation.

It appeared that his neighbor was about to knock on his door, or perhaps something along those lines, but had a change of heart midway. Did he overhear the shouting and come to intervene? But if he heard the shouting, he must have also heard the door slam and the subsequent silence... which meant he hadn't come to intervene, but to check on Yoongi. The realization dawned on him, filling him with a mix of surprise and gratitude toward his unexpected ally.

"H-hi," Namjoon stuttered, approaching Yoongi with caution as he carefully examined him from head to toe.

"Sorry about the noise," Yoongi blurted out, his cheeks flushing bright red with embarrassment.

"You're the last person who should be apologizing," Namjoon responded warmly, causing Yoongi's heart to flutter.

He quickly averted his gaze, afraid that Namjoon might notice the effect his words, his voice, his mere presence had on him.

Yoongi felt pathetic. He barely knew Namjoon, yet the countless alternative universes he conjured in his mind made it seem as though he did. These imagined scenarios created a connection that wasn't real, all products of his own imagination. It was a crush born out of thin air, a result of desperation for something positive, a longing for a happy ending—a perfect fantasy world where he could escape from his harsh reality.

"Are you okay?" Namjoon asked, his concern evident in his voice.

"It's nothing I'm not used to. I'll be fine," Yoongi responded with a resigned shrug.

"You shouldn't have to get used to this kind of treatment!" Namjoon exclaimed, frustration evident in his tone.

"Damn it, I'm sorry for overstepping, but ever since you moved in, there hasn't been a single week where I haven't heard you guys fighting."
