The day of Yoongi's medical check-up finally arrived, a moment they had all been anxiously awaiting. Namjoon and Taehyung had succeeded in keeping Yoongi in good spirits, and their efforts paid off when the doctor gave Yoongi the green light to resume his daily activities.
Truth be told, there wasn't much difference in how Yoongi spent his days. He mostly stayed home, focusing on his schoolwork and house chores. The biggest change was that Namjoon had taken over all the household tasks, forbidding the two pregnant men from lifting a finger. The only exception was the kitchen, where he welcomed their help. Despite Namjoon having learned to cook out of necessity for himself and Taehyung, both brothers were admittedly terrible at it. They often resorted to takeout or quick store-bought meals.
"Hyung, we should celebrate!" Taehyung exclaimed as they stepped out of the hospital.
"Do you celebrate every little thing?" Yoongi chuckled, clearly endeared by Taehyung's enthusiasm.
"Of course! Life is to be celebrated. How else are we supposed to enjoy the good things?"
Namjoon smiled warmly at his brother. "I'm so thankful for being your brother, Taehyung. Your heart is the most special thing you have."
"Aish, are you trying to make me cry?" Taehyung protested, playfully punching Namjoon's arm. His embarrassment was evident, but so was his affection. "I'm thankful for having you as well. You're my best friend."
"I thought I had lost that position to Jimin," Namjoon teased, raising an eyebrow.
"Never! You'll forever be my best friend, my biggest supporter, and my safe haven," Taehyung declared as he laced his arms tightly around his brother, his voice filled with sincerity.
Yoongi watched them with a genuine smile, his heart squeezing at the heartwarming scene. He felt a pang of envy for the bond they shared, mourning what he had never had before. Yet, he found comfort in knowing they were now here for him. Sometimes he wondered if he was taking advantage of their friendship and kindness, but their sincerity and eagerness to help him left him unable to refuse their support.
"Hyung!" Taehyung exclaimed, noticing the tears welling up in Yoongi's eyes. "Oh no, we made you sad!" He rushed closer, wrapping his arms around Yoongi as best as their large bellies allowed. "Please don't cry, or I'll cry!"
Namjoon looked at Yoongi with wide, concerned eyes, debating whether he should join the hug. He didn't want to overwhelm Yoongi, so he held back.
"No, no, I'm not sad; these aren't sad tears. I'm actually very happy right now," Yoongi reassured them, his voice steady despite the emotion.
"Really?" Namjoon asked, seeking confirmation.
Yoongi nodded, extending his hand toward Namjoon. Namjoon took it, and Yoongi gently pulled him into the hug, enveloping them in a moment of shared warmth and affection.
"So, celebrate?" Taehyung mumbled from within his brother's comforting embrace.
