She knew it would be a bad day as soon as she opened her eyes, her head was pounding. She groaned and rolled over hoping to see Winter lying beside her, unfortunately she was met with an empty bed. Confused, she sat up, until she heard kitchen cupboards opening and closing, even from upstairs they were far too loud for Aut's liking and they made her jump slightly. She felt like such a child, still being jumpy at loud noises, she wished her childhood didn't affect her as much as it did but she had accepted that this is how her life was now.

She got herself dressed and ready for the day and met her sweet in the kitchen. "Good morning darling" he greeted her with a smile and came over to give her a kiss. "Good morning" she replied, not really making eye contact, Winter noticed but decided not to push. Autumn's mind was running wild, everything was too loud the clock was ticking, the kettle boiling, the radio playing some cheesy pop song that she couldn't remember the name of at that moment, it was all too much and she wanted it to stop. "Autumn?", she was brought back to reality by Winter waving his hand in her face, she looked at him slightly dazed. "Are you ready to go my love?" She nodded and went to their car.

The car ride was quiet, she didn't want to talk, the lump in her throat making it hard to even swallow. Every car horn or engine rev made her jump and every corner had her holding onto her seat for dear life. She felt like a deer in headlights and she didn't know what to do, she hated this feeling she always had, she knew what was happening and was trying to make it stop. The first time she had an attack she was 12 her father yelled at her for not getting an A on her English paper she sobbed and pleaded with him that she would do better but he wouldn't accept that, she can remember him screaming at her "This is your fault! You need to do better, this isn't good enough, you're not good enough!" she was sent to bed with no dinner until eventually Reece snuck her some food. She shivered at the thought.

They arrived, gave each other a quick kiss in the car and parted ways for the day. Winter noted that Autumn seemed off and made the mental note to ask about it later. He always knew when she was feeling rough and he understood why, his sweet girl seems strong but he knows she has a lot going on inside her head. He would love to go inside her brain and take out all the negative things that have ever happened to her throughout her life, he wanted to keep her safe.

Autumns day went quite smoothly but she couldn't shake the negative or the nervous feeling in her stomach. She was able to keep herself calm until the office door flew open and a very angry parent walked in "Marjorie!" She demanded "Another fee increase how dare you, how do you think we can afford this, it's getting ridiculous!" Marjorie tried to explain but before she could the parent turned her attention to Autumn. "Have you got something to do with this! I know you just love taking money off of us parents, this is your fault! You're making this more expensive for us!"

This is your fault

the comment lingered in her mind and she was forced to feel like that little 12 year old girl who just wanted to make her daddy proud of her. She completely zoned out and was just staring blankly at the parent until she saw her leave the room, she could see Marjorie's lips moving but couldn't hear what she was saying. She could feel her hands shaking and just wanted the ground to swallow her up. Marjorie held out a hand to her but she backed away until she was against the wall, her breathing picked up and she suddenly realised what was happening, she was having a panic attack, in public, at work! She watched as Marjorie left the room quickly and she slid down the wall making herself as small as possible, the room was spinning and everything was suddenly too loud again. It felt like the walls were closing in on her and she wanted to be anywhere else except for the floor of the office.
