Prompt: Autumn meets Winter's parents
Words:2580

"Is this too much?" Autumn held up yet another dress to her boyfriend, to him they looked the same but in different colours but right now she didn't need to know that.

"My love you will look stunning in anything that you wear I promise". She sighed dramatically and threw her head back throwing the red dress down onto the bed next to winter who was just laying on his phone as calm as can be.

"Winter" she groaned dragging the 'e' in his name out, "this is important, I want to make a good impression on them". He smiled at her slightly he thought it was cute that she was trying so hard to impress his parents so much. They had been dating for 8 months and Winter had met Reece (Roger briefly but Autumn never wanted it to be more than that) but she had never met Winters family. There was no reason why, it had just never came up until a few weeks ago when Winter had called his mum and she asked about when they were going to meet the girl who had stole Winters heart. Since then Autumn had been a nervous wreck.

He jumped off the bed and stood behind her putting his hands on her shoulder and talking to her through the mirror. "My sweet they are going to love you I promise, and they will see how much I adore you, stop worrying everything will be fine." She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. He kissed her cheek and smiled "that's my girl" she smiled at him and turned around to give him a hug. He whispered in her ear "finish getting ready I'll be downstairs."

She watched him leave the room through the mirror and smiled to herself. God she loved him so much. He was the one for her, she was certain of it, he cared for her so much and the feeling was completely mutual. She had never been so smitten over a guy in her whole life, not that she would ever tell anyone that. She wanted, no, she needed this night to go well.

She decided against a dress and wore some smart black trousers and a burgundy shirt. More like her usual everyday look. After thinking about it she'd rather be more herself to impress them rather than dressing up when that wasn't really her. She looked smart, sophisticated. She hoped they liked her.

She made her way downstairs and saw her handsome boy sitting on the sofa waiting for her. "Do I look okay?" she asked, unsure as to why she had become nervous around him. He looked up from his phone and smiled, jumping up to have a proper look at her. "Stunning my darling you look marvellous" she looked at her shoes and smiled. He came and gave her a hug, running his hands through her long hair that was going down her back. "Don't be nervous my sweet" he kissed the top of her head. She cuddled into him and breathed him in praying the night would go smoothly....and quickly.

They decided to meet at Winters childhood home, which Autumn was actually excited about, she knew bits and pieces about Winters childhood, it was better than hers that's for sure but she was excited to see where little Winter grew up. They pulled up in front of the house, it looked sweet, and Autumn couldn't help feel jealous of them already. Her parents tended to throw money at most situations but showed very little love. Winters family seemed to have enough money to get by as a family of three and provide love and comfort throughout Winters whole life.

Her thoughts were interrupted by the feeling of Winters hand on her thigh. She jumped slightly and looked at him "Aut, your going to be fine I promise, they know how amazing you are already I promise sweet girl they are going to love you" he lifted her hand to his mouth and gave it a kiss. She took a deep breath "let's do this".

Before they had even reached the front door, Winters mum had opened it. She rushed out straight to Winter "Winter! Hello my boy how are you, I've missed you!" Winter dropped Autumns hand to go hug his mother, she stood back and watched, smiling slightly at how much of a family man her boyfriend was. His mother cupped his face and pulled him into another hug, she saw Autumn standing behind him and let go of her son. "And you must be Autumn, Winter told us you were beautiful but he didn't tell us you were stunningly beautiful" she blushed slightly and could feel Winter watching them. "It's lovely to meet you ma'am" his mother was quite shocked at her comment. "Oh honey none of that here, call me Mandy it's fine, let's go inside my husband, Alan, is waiting for us". She ran on ahead so the couple walked in hand and hand. "Told you she'd like you" he whispered to her and lead her inside.
