Prompt: Autumn and Winter talk about what the future holds
A/N- A happy baby chapter I promise
Words: 1641

Those two little lines were quite honestly the best thing that could ever happen to both Autumn and Winter. They were over the moon to be expecting a baby.

They decided to keep it a secret for a little while just until they had a few more scans and Autumn was feeling less sick. It was hard to keep it from them, especially Reece. Being Autumns only close blood related family member, she wanted to tell him as soon as her and Winter found out but she knew she couldn't.

The pregnancy so far had been rough, she was very unwell and her anxiety was constantly through the roof. Everyone who looked at her, her hands instinctively went to her stomach. She wanted to protect her baby as much as she possibly could.

Even though they hadn't told anyone, at home, Autumn and Winter could not stop talking about their little bundle of joy. They were constantly researching different furniture pieces and how they could make their time as first time parents easier for themselves.

They were very lucky. Both having a background in childcare, they both had good knowledge on how to care for a child and with their need to love this child with everything they had in them they believed they would make a perfect little family.

He had gotten very protective of her too, she loved it and she knew why he was being more clingy, but a few times she did need to remind him to give her space which he, of course, respected.

They lay in bed one night, both of them on their backs, holding hands, his thumb running over her hand soothingly. "I'm so excited to watch you be a dad" she suddenly said and he smiled "you're going to be the best dad ever I already know it". She was looking at him now, she loved looking at him, her boy was so handsome and god she loved him so much.

"Thank you my sweet, I know you'll be a great mother to our little one, he or she will be lucky to have you"

His comment made her smile, she knew she had it in her to be a good mother. She wanted to be nothing like her own, one who walked away with another man leaving her two children, the two people she was meant to protect, with a monster of a father. She was determined to be the best possible mother to her child.

Her hand lay on her stomach, it was only herself and Winter but her hand always seemed to rest there without her thinking. She subconsciously wanted baby to know that their mama was thinking about them and couldn't wait for the day that baby could kick back at the feeling of her hand.

"What do you think they'll be?" She asked him, looking at the ceiling. "I think a girl" he said which surprised her, although she couldn't help but get butterflies at the idea of him being a girl dad. "I was thinking a boy if I'm being honest, a little girl would be lovely though, as long as they're healthy I don't mind what they are" she replied. This was true she really didn't have a preference she just wanted her baby safe in her arms.

"I think they'll look like you" he said smiling at her. "I think most babies look like their fathers and I would be very happy if ours looked like you my sweet" she replied cupping his face and scratching at his stubble slightly watching his eyes grow heavy at the feeling.

"They'll have dark hair and your blue eyes" he continued to her, "and god help us when they start talking because if their attitude is anything like both of us we're in trouble" she laughed, that she could agree on and she would admit herself and Winter were both very quick witted and knew how to deal with difficult people and she had no doubt that their baby would be the same. This is escalated by the fact that they will have Uncle Reece and Auntie Marjorie who are also both very good at handling situations. Their little one will be surrounded by strong individuals and Autumn has no doubt that they will be loved endlessly.
