A few weeks ago, the school year had come to an end. The sun was shining brightly, and the once tumultuous events that had brought Percy and William together had settled into a comfortable routine. Graduation was just around the corner, and the future felt exciting and uncertain.
One sunny afternoon, Percy and William returned to the park where they had shared so many pivotal moments. They sat on a blanket spread out on the grass, surrounded by the vibrant colors of summer.
William glanced at Percy, a thoughtful expression on his face.
-Percy, there's something I've been meaning to ask you.
Percy turned to him, his curiosity piqued.
-What is it?
William took a deep breath, gathering his thoughts.
-These past few weeks have been... incredible. Even with all the ups and downs, I can't imagine my life without you. I don't want this to just be a high school fling or something we look back on as a phase.
Percy felt his heart start to race, a hopeful smile spreading across his face.
-What are you saying, William?
William reached into his pocket and pulled out a small, simple bracelet. He held it out to Percy, his eyes full of love and determination.
-Percy, will you be my boyfriend? Officially? I want us to be a couple, to face the future together, whatever it brings.
Percy's eyes filled with tears of joy as he took the bracelet from William's hand. He slipped it onto his wrist, the gesture feeling like a promise of something wonderful.
-Yes, William. I'd love that—more than anything.
They leaned in for a kiss, sealing their promise with the warmth and certainty of their love. As they pulled away, they both knew that this was just the beginning of their journey together. No matter what challenges lay ahead, they were ready to face them side by side, as partners, as boyfriends, and as the best of friends.
And as they lay back on the blanket, watching the clouds drift by, they knew that their future was as bright as the summer sky above them.
