Gak Eun covered his mouth, trying his hardest not to laugh. "Cheating? No. Gambling doesn't just need luck but also skill. A brat like you wouldn't understand."
Jin took out 3 coins from his pouch, his fiery eyes glaring at Gak Eun. "Who are you calling a brat?! We're the same age!"
Gak Eun chuckled as he bit into his coins. With a mocking tone, he said, "You're complaining? What do you want to play? Coin flip?" He laughed mockingly.
Jin grabbed his chin and pondered Gak Eun's words. Tapping his feet on the ground, he nodded. "Coin flip it is then!"
Gak Eun’s grin widened as he pushed himself off his seat. “Alright, coin flip it is. But be warned, I’m pretty good at this.”
He took out a coin from his pouches and threw it to Jin. "I'll prove to you that I'm superior. You flip it. I'll bet a pouch of coins."
Jin caught the coin and glanced at the three coins in his other palm. "A pouch then..." He looked at his last pouch and sighed.
He locked his gaze on Gak Eun.
"You ready for this?"
Gak Eun, brimming with confidence, leaned back with a smug smile. “Absolutely. Let’s see if you can handle the pressure.”
Jin took a deep breath, steadying his hand as he held the coin.
'He clearly cheated on the color game. So I must also cheat. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. Isn't that right, old man?'
Jin flicked the coin into the air, watching it spin and twirl. Gak Eun focused his eyes on the spinning coin, the crowd watching in anticipation.
Gak Eun closed his eyes as the coin neared Jin's palm, rubbing the jade ring in his pinky.
Catch!
Jin clasped his hands, catching the spinning coin mid-air. He glared at Gak Eun. He smiled mischievously seeing Gak Eun's closed eyes. He glanced at the pouches of coins in his waist.
'Never close your eyes. Right, Babo?'
Snatch!
Jin swiftly snatched the pouch of coins from Gak Eun’s waist while maintaining his mischievous smile. 'Gotcha!'
Riip!
The swift motion of Jin caused Gak Eun's waistband to tear. The tearing sound from Gak Eun’s waistband was unmistakable. His eyes flew open as he realized what had happened. He reached for his pouch, but Jin was already a step ahead, having secured the pouch in his belt.
Gak Eun's pants fell to the ground, exposing his embarrassment to the crowd. His face turned bright red as he scrambled to pull up his pants. He hastily adjusted his waistband, his hands trembling slightly.
"You cheater! Have you got no shame?! I'll remember your face, brat!"
Without looking back, Jin dashed through the crowd surrounding him, heading to the mountains.
'There's no way he can guess the 3 colors correctly in one go. That's impossible! He's yapping about his lineage being a gambling family, nonsense! That's an excuse to keep cheating!'
The crowd watched as Jin ran off into the distance with a mix of astonishment and amusement. They glanced back to Gak Eun and witnessed his indignity.
They all shut their mouths shut and clenched their fists, suppressing their laughter.
Gak Eun's face was still flushed with embarrassment as he struggled to re-secure his waistband. The crowd's murmurs of laughter and suppressed snickers only added to his humiliation. His glare at Jin’s retreating figure was fierce, though his demeanor was more pained than menacing.
