*a slight trigger warning for violence ahead*
It was her first day after marriage in the palace. Anjali came the previous night and made Riya sleep in the guest house as the couple can't sleep in the same room before all the rituals were done.
Riya woke up early morning and got ready in the saree Anjali had given her. She woke up before everyone and came down to see not even the workers have woke up. She went to where Simran and Sahil were there. After seeing that they were sound sleep she went back to the room Where Anjali was staying. She wanted to knock on the door but thought they might be sleeping and did not want to wake her up.
She decided to knock but Anjali opened the door all by herself and saw Riya waiting for her there. She took Riya and went into the kitchen asking her what dishes she knew to cook.
"uhmm maggie?" Riya answered and Anjali deadpanned hearing her answer. She has to teach a lot to her daughter in law she thought.
"This is your first day here, so according to the tradition here, the daughter in law has to make breakfast for the whole family" Anjali said.
"But Mam there are around ten members here, how can I cook for all them" Riya said Anjali cringed at how she addressed her but let it go for now.
"That's why we have these many workers and I too am here to help you" Anjali said and Riya looked confident.
"Okay then first wash the rice properly" Anjali said and did not give further instructions.
Riya took three cups of rice and put some dishwashing liquid and washed it under the running tap, Anjali who saw her doing this looked wide eyed at the girl.
"what are you doing" She asked
"washing rice?" Riya said batting her eyes in innocence. Anjali did not know to laugh or yell at her.
"oh god, what have you done Aaryan" Anjali cursed her fate. Then Anjali gave Riya all the instruction just like a mother would do to her child and Riya wrote it down.
Riya had started doing things on her own after listening to her once. Anjali was quite impressed looking at how fast she learned everything.
"I suggest we should use stevia from now onwards, it's good for health. Dadaji and Dadima will also be healthy if we use it" Riya said not noticing what was happening around her. Anjali noticed Indravathi in the Kitchen and became silent but Riya being her clumsy self kept on talking.
"I think we should even stop preparing sweets, Sugar is not good for our health especially for elderly people.." Riya saw how everything was quite suddenly and turned back to see Indravathi standing there. She immediately put the spatula down and greeted her.
"Good morning Dadima, Should I bring you and dadaji some tea" She asked and Indravathi went away not answering her.
"oh my god, you have such a big mouth" Anjali said when Indravathi went out.
"Did I do something wrong" She asked scared.
"Nothing, just continue" Anjali smiled at how she was behaving. She became fond of Riya instantly. The breakfast was done after three hours.
"Here, go give this to my son" Anjali said and forwarded black tea. Riya carefully held the cup and climbed the stairs when she saw Aarti coming down.
"Good morning Aarthi mam" Riya greeted just like students greet their children in classroom.
"Is the breakfast ready that early" Aarthi asked raising a brow.
"oh yes, It's almost done. Shall I bring you some tea?" She asked like a servant but Aarthi did not give her any reply and went away. What's with the attitude Riya thought.
