"What are you looking for" Riya asked as she saw Aaryan making the room a mess in search of a file.
"It's a brown file, I remember seeing it here just the night before and now it just disappeared" he said worrying.
" a brown file? Oh yea your father asked me to send it to office. So I asked Rishi to drop it there on his way to hospital" Riya said
" you should've told me Riya. I was damn worried" Aaryan said feeling relieved.
" I'm sorry it slipped my mind" she said getting closer to him and tieing his tie. Aaryan could see a change in Riya after their argument about the divorce. she looked new.
I'm going to enjoy breaking this new Riya He thought and smirked.
Riya looked at him with adoration and smiled.
" Sahil's birthday is coming up and I want to have a theme party. Is that okay?" She asked to which Aaryan agreed with no delay.
" then can I go to the mall and get some decor items" Riya asked excited. Aaryan asked Ajith to accompany her and left to office.
Riya couldn't help but notice all the stares she was getting from Anjali since they returned from their vacation. Sometimes she would look at Riya with pity and sometimes with confusion.
Ajith was busy in some work and told that he would take her out in few hours. Riya surfed through the channels one by one out of boredom. Aarti came and sat on the couch next to her, Riya did not acknowledge her presence and continued surfing through the channels.
" Riya get me a chai" she ordered.
Riya couldn't hear her words and did not respond , Aarti spoke again and this time Riya increased the volume on purpose. Aarti couldn't believe her eyes. She was confused why she was behaving like this all of a sudden.
"RIYA" Aarti yelled out finally and Riya looked at her with small eyes.
" I said make me a chai" Aarti said with hatred dripping her words.
"You could've as asked it gently too. I couldn't hear you in this volume" Riya said feeling hurt and emotional. She went into the kitchen to bring chai. She saw Suryanath just then coming down the stairs and it was sure he saw everything.
Riya made no delay in bringing the chai. She served both of them and still stood there as if she was servant awaiting for further orders.
"Do you want me to prepare separate lunch for Rishi like you asked me last time Mam. You see the maids are not using proper measures to prepare his healthy foods" Riya asked Aarti in the presence of suryanath.
Aarti was dumbstruck by her tactics. What is she trying to prove by doing this in front of this old man she thought.
" why would you do it? We have maids don't we Aarti" suryanath asked with a hint of warning in his tone.
" yes.. yes.." Aarti said hurriedly.
Riya went out with Ajith and as usual she didn't say to him what was happening in her life.
Ajith too don't force her to answer and stayed silent in the car and talked with her outside the car.
" are you okay" he asked a hundred times.
" are you sure you're fine" he asked another hundred times.
Riya assured him everything was going good and that she will be happy soon.
Just then Riya got a call from Aaryan.
" Riya where are you" he asked raging in anger.
" outside. Why?"
"Did you take care of the file properly or did you loose some documents in it" he asked worried sick
" the file was zipped Aaryan. So there is no way anything would've fallen from it" Riya said.
