Storm forced Sophia to sit down as he stretched his hand from the comfort of his bed. "Storm Osipova. But you already know that."
Killian accepted Storm's hand, squeezing it as his eyes squinted at the bedridden man. He did know that, of course. "Killian Silvetti. Glad to make your acquaintances."
Humming, Storm let go of Kill's hand, pumping the hand sanitiser three times and making sure to sanitise every crevice of his palms and fingers as Killian watched with a deadpan.
"He has mild germophobia."
Storm glared. "I do not-"
Sophia slammed her hand on his mouth. "The necklace now."
Killian put the black velvet box in her palm, keeping his eyes on Storm who didn't give him the time of his day. He didn't like Killian, after all, for the simple fact that he'd watched Sophia get abused by her foster families. He should've done more to help her instead of abandoning her to deal with it on her own. Yet, Storm said nothing. He understood that Killian meant a great deal to Sophia no matter how much he disliked that fact.
Killian nodded, a gleam of something Storm couldn't quite grasp twinkling in his eyes. "Call me if you need anything, Sophie."
She glared. "It's not like you ever answer."
Killian waved her off and pulled out a huge bone indeed, leaving it before Koshmar. "Keep your boy toy on a tight leash, yeah?"
Boytoy... Who was he talking about?"
Before Storm could ask, Killian was out of the door, Sophia appearing increasingly annoyed with that bright flush across her freckled cheeks.
"Boytoy?" Storm asked, pushing stray locks behind her ears before correcting the floral crown and then her collar. "Who do I have to kill now?"
"He's talking about you."
His fingers stilled. "Me?"
She pushed his hand off her face and turned her attention back to the black velvet box. "Can you do me a favour?"
He pulled her closer, not hesitating with his answer. "Anything, pretty baby."
Opening the velvet box, she pulled out the necklace and surprised Storm by opening it showcasing a small SSD card lying within it. "Repeat after me. This is important."
"This is important."
"I promise to keep it safe."
"I promise to keep it safe," Storm repeated.
"And I won't tell anyone about it or show it."
"I won't tell or show it to anyone."
She pressed a kiss against his forehead before locking the chain around his neck and hiding the pendant under his gown.
"What's in it?"
"Something that would put a lot of lives in jeopardy."
He pulled her closer, letting her subconsciously graze her thumb along the length of the scar that ran down his left eyebrow to the top of his lip. "Is this the infamous necklace of death that you made such a fuss about?"
Frowning, her thumb ran over his lips before resting against his bottom lip. "I didn't make a fuss about it."
"You did." Storm bit her thumb. "But I don't mind. What I do mind is him."
