CHAPTER EIGHTY-SIX | ARE WE TOGETHER?

Ironically, it wasn't difficult to make his own workers turn against him, seeing as how much they hated him. They'd all heard the thuds but no one said anything. Nor did anyone feet him when Storm returned for the night back to Sophia. It wasn't difficult to understand why they abstained, however.
Storm had been informally proclaimed leader of the Bratva by Vladimir Morozov, supported by none other than Sophia's grandmother Olga who publicly spoke about Petrov for his misdeeds against the Bratva. With Sophia's consent, Storm shared pieces of her research, showing the various deeds Ivanko had done, starting with the death of Storm's father. His treason only further added to the already existing hatred towards him.
Not only had he killed Storm's father but everyone now assumed he'd killed the Kuznetsovs as well.
Only Storm and Sophia knew the truth besides Ivanko. But it was Ivanko's word against theirs and they weren't going to side with him nor would anyone else unless they wanted to be killed by Storm.
Sophia didn't really see Storm for several days. When she went to bed, he wasn't there and when she woke up, he'd already left. He was there through letters and messages and if she was lucky, she'd hear him whisper goodnight into her ear before kissing her forehead and slipping inside their bed to sleep for a few hours.
But they were alright. She understood and so did he. She needed space and a break and Storm had to overtake half of the underworld.
Sophia still had a lot of things to think about, especially regarding Anwar and Killian who no one had heard about since the accident. She had no idea what had happened to them other than assuming that Anwar had gone underground and taken Killian with him.
It was for the better, however. Had he not, Storm might've killed Anwar.
It was nearly three weeks before she felt like herself and got ready to come out of her hiding from their rooms. Sophia had decided it was about time that they talked about the future of the Bratva.
She slid on her silky ropes and slippers before stepping out, walking over corpses and pools of blood as the staff tried to clean them faster than they dropped but it seemed nearly impossible as yet another body was slain by one of the Bratva's best assassins. Sophia recognised all the corpses as individuals who stared in her little notebook.
Storm was killing everyone from her death list from the bottom and up.
Sophia quietly and nonchalantly walked past all the chaos and into Storm's newly acclaimed temporary office. She knocked and waited for a moment before entering. It wasn't surprising when she saw Storm aim a gun at her. He quickly realised it was Sophia who had knocked, however, and lowered his weapon.
"Sophia baby..."
Sophia closed the door behind her and hesitated before walking further into the room. "I think I made my slippers all bloody. Would you prefer it if I took them off?"
"Do whatever you feel comfortable with. I will probably burn this mansion down in one of these upcoming weeks."
Sophia took her bloodied shoes off and entered the squeaky-clean office. "I thought you'd torture Ivanko, personally."
Storm had tortured him for a while but then he quickly realised that that wouldn't bring back all the years he'd lost with his father. Storm also realised that he no longer felt lost and that he'd been found.
