CHAPTER EIGHTY-SEVEN | TRANQUILLITY

Drawing his thumb over her skin, Storm's gaze was completely taken by her beauty. It was like she glowed, radiated contagious happiness so fatal that he'd even smile in death. He didn't know someone could be so beautiful until he saw her. She was so pretty.
"What?" Sophia giggled. "What now?"
Storm pulled her closer, not caring who looked. It didn't matter that they were in public and that the whole Bratva were watching them closely. "I just think you're beautiful. And I love you."
She blushed shyly. "Well, I think you look very handsome in your suit."
He chuckled. "Only when I'm wearing a suit?"
Her eyes turned soft, saying what she could never manage to articulate despite her numerous attempts to. "Always."
"Always," Storm repeated, resting his forehead against hers, knowing exactly what that one word meant. They were always. Relationships were temporary but they were always. "I love you."
"One hundred percent," Sophia suddenly blurted before flushing in embarrassment. "Sorry. I meant I love you too."
Chuckling, Storm rolled his eyes. Her slip-up had pulled him out of his love daze. "One hundred percent is for when you're enlisted in university, Sophia."
"Oh. Then ninety-nine."
He chuckled. She was impossible to teach. Especially when it came to anything regarding him. She just didn't know how to be mean to him it seemed. Not in the way he wanted anyway.
"I do love you though."
"I know." He pecked her lips, his forehead pressing against hers until they were the only two people on the planet. "I love you too." His soft expression was replaced by a glare when someone cut their cute moment short.
"Boss."
"What?" Storm snapped. "Can't you tell I'm fucking busy?"
The man's gaze fell. "We found a trail." They couldn't find Killian or Anwar. Storm, of course, wanted to kill Anwar whereas Sophia was still a bit hurt by Anwar's actions. He'd left her to die. Even if they fought and didn't say eye to eye, it still hurt. "It might lead to a dead end but they thought it was worth asking."
"Then go. I told you to find them not to waste my time."
Sophia pinched Storm's side, causing him to glare at her.
The man nodded and left after paying his respects with a bow.
"You don't have to be so mean. No one likes a mean man."
"No one likes a girl with a smart mouth."
Sophia grinned. "But you do."
He sighed as though he was cursed. Cursed for liking her smart mouth, indeed. Storm pulled her closer. "Where were we?"
Sophia smiled and draped her arms around his neck, capturing his lips with hers. They didn't care that people stared. They could stare all they wanted. In fact, they were welcome to it. "I love you."
He pecked her lips, smiling shyly. He still hadn't gotten completely used to her saying that. He couldn't believe that she could ever love him. "I love you too."
