Funnily enough, I hesitated to write this book for the better of a few weeks. It was a constant thought in my head and as I wrote out the pitch, I got a lot of mixed reactions. Some loved how violent it was and others hated it. I feel like that is the reality of many dark romance books but I still wanted to write it.
Sometimes writing is just that. Writing because you want to and not because someone else wants you to.
While milestones and such don't really mean much to me, I was pleasantly surprised to see the amount of reads the book has garnered. And while I am proud of it, I was happier to see how many engaged readers I have.
I chose Wattpad because I liked the idea of a community gathering to share their love for reading. So each comment has truly been everything and more to me. I wanna thank everyone who commented. Thank you. You truly made my day.
But commenters aren't the only ones I want to thank. Another group of people I want to thank are my silent readers. I was telling my friend how each time I publish a chapter, I reload my page to make sure it has been published. Yet, somehow, almost every time, the same few readers have already voted on the story merely seconds after it has been put on. I couldn't help but smile at the enthusiasm so I just wanted to share that and thank those individuals as well.
The journey has been joyous for a multitude of reasons and I could probably write a thousand words thanking everyone, from the number of engaged readers I have, the ones who engaged in conversation in the comments, the ones who simply read it and the ones who decided to explore some of my other works on the platform but we'd be here all day.
For my other book, I ended it with a few confessions and wanted to do the same here. It is honestly more for me to look back at but also for the ones who are curious as well. I actually finished the book a year ago. I know, how dare I not publish it all? To put it in short words, I obviously needed to edit and rewrite certain points of the first draft. In that way, I can also make sure that whatever I do publish on Wattpad will be finished.
I'm a bit of an obsessive writer. When I first start, I will write nonstop until I see the project's end. I finished the first draft of the book in a few weeks and looking back at it, I sometimes scratch my head. If you didn't know, the book is over 200,000 words. I still don't know how I managed that atop of my studies.
Usually, I walk away with a favourite character when I write a book but in this case, I actually didn't. I love Sophia and Storm equally. Still, secretly I think Koshmar is my favourite looking back at it all. Maybe it was his sassy attitude or how quick he was to comfort the characters. I'm not sure why. Which character was your favourite?
While His Little Stalker is a stand-alone, it technically is part of the same universe my other two books are. I wanna emphasise the stand-alone part, however. You can read them in whatever order you want. It does not matter really.
I should say that while Sophia currently is my favourite female main character that I have written, Storm is currently battling with Niccolò of my new book along with another secret project I am writing. Enough self-promoting now, lol.
To wrap this up, as the book came to an end, I was telling my friend that a famous Wattpad dark romance writer checked out my book. It was both odd and endearing to see someone be so happy for a mere few votes, yet her happiness was rather contagious. Perhaps, the said author is reading this as I am writing, lol. Still, out of their privacy, I won't say their name. I'm just leaving this to remind myself of this feat as my friend calls it. Perhaps, I'm the weird one for not caring too much about it.
That being said, are there some changes you'd like in the book? Or some things you liked that you wouldn't want to change? I'm probably gonna do some quick revisions to the book. Nothing dramatic, however, so no worries.
Anyway, it's been a pleasure writing and sharing this journey. Hope to see some of you in the comments of some of my other books. Take care. 🖤
