CHAPTER FORTY-NINE | HEART LOCKET

He'd been worried sick, having made at least a dozen calls to Olga, all of which had been sent straight to voicemail. For a second, his heart had stopped beating as guilt ate away at him.
He had been worried for no reason whatsoever. Koshmar was fine. He'd made the Morales mansion into his playground, causing several workers of the household as well as Olga herself to flee as they called Storm who had his phone on silent as he always had whenever his attention was taken by Sophia.
Glaring at Storm, Sophia took a seat on the floor and spread her arms. "Koshmar baby. Come here, Mishka." Little bear.
Stilling, Koshmar let go of the limb in his mouth and turned himself towards Sophia, blinking before grinning at the sight of her. It was a few strides and he was in her arms, blood smearing across her clothes but none of that mattered. All that mattered was he was okay.
"I told you he was okay."
Storm scoffed. Was he not allowed to worry about his dog?
Petting Koshmar, Sophia shot Storm another glare. "You probably didn't even worry about me as much as you did him."
"I'll tear out your eyes if you keep glaring at me like that."
She huffed and turned her attention to Koshmar as he wagged his tail. "You made him look for me, didn't you? Didn't you, Mishka?" Little bear.
Koshmar drew his tongue back into his mouth and looked at Storm in his panicked state before seeing his glare.
Do not make a single sound.
Koshmar took a cautious step back.
"You're confusing him," Storm carefully picked his manipulative words, trying to steer the conversation to something less condescending. "Don't involve Koshmar, Sophia."
She pursed her lips and finally stood up, scratching Koshmar behind his ear before connecting the leash to his collar. Sophia kissed the top of his head and smiled at the dog. "Let's go."
Koshmar left his mass of corpses behind and trotted forward with a grin. He liked it whenever both Storm and Sophia walked him together.
"Where the fuck are you going?"
Sophia only glanced at him as she walked to one of Olga's many sports cars. Despite not driving herself, the woman did have good taste in cars. She had some of Storm's favourites, after all. "Hold Koshmar for me."
Storm took the leash from her hand and watched her as she dug through the key cabinet. It wasn't long before she stepped into the car and he heard the engine come back to life. "You can't be serious, Sophia. You can't just steal a car."
She furrowed her eyebrows. "Why not?"
"Because it's not right."
She glared. "And when did you start caring about what was right? Was it sometime between taking my virginity and forcing me to share a bed with you?"
His mouth opened and closed but no words left his lips. She'd caught him by surprise. "I thought I was forgiven."
She gave him a look over, rounding the car and taking a seat. "Twenty per cent. Are you getting in the car or not?"
Twenty fucking per cent? "I spent over two million on you today." He opened the door for Koshmar, letting him inside before taking a seat at the steering wheel, glaring at his little stalker.
