I LIED , THE SEWER SUCKS
[NAME]It was quiet, a comfortable silence as Leo cooked over the fire. Piper and Jason sat close together, occasionally engaging in a quiet conversation. I finally pulled out the bottle of water I had asked for back at the workshop, squeezing it tight and launching out a stream, manipulating it to fall into my outstretched hand and to stay there. I brought it up to my head, healing the gash (which had stopped bleeding thanks to the melted snow back there, I was surprised Valdez could even carry me out).
I wondered about the prophecy, why I was chosen to go on this quest when I myself hadn't received any sign from Juno—err, Hera. Am I even supposed to be here? The siren could've very well been Piper, with her charmspeak and all. What if I'm just a straggler? A little girl trying to regain the glory she doesn't deserve.
But you're meant to be. A cold voice insisted in my ear, and I shivered as a cold draft hit me, my right side throbbing. Where are Siren's normally found? You have many things ahead of you, daughter of the sea. I hope the 'things' didn't include my death. I narrowed my eyes at the thought. I wanted to go my own way.
I drank the rest of the water, my headache only easing up slightly.
"You should have some ambrosia," Jason spoke up, startling me out of my thoughts. I let the hand on my wound fall back down, the water surrounding it absorbing back into my skin. I looked over at the two of them, Piper flinching slightly when I settled my gaze on her.
"What?" I asked, leaning against the sewer walls, my mind racing despite my composed exterior. Why did she flinch? Is there something behind me? Are my powers scary to her? I resisted the urge to ask.
Even Jason looked a bit uneasy. "You're head, it was bleeding pretty bad when you uh, first fell. You should have a bit of ambrosia—"
"Why do you look like that?" Piper cut him off, narrowing her eyes at me.
I blinked. "Excuse me?"
Jason laughed nervously, not seeming to mind that Piper interrupted him. "You look like.. Angry I guess? Did we do something?"
I glanced at the two, confused. "Uhm... No? I'm not—"
"Oh so that's just you," Piper nodded, looking through her bag for some ambrosia. "You just look like a bitch."
Jason looked taken aback, and I heard Leo gasp comically loud from his place at the fire. I blinked slowly at her, and saw her grin. I sighed, a slight smile tracing my face. "Very funny Piper. You say this all the time, didn't think you'd get Golden Boy here on it too."
She just shrugged in response, before chucking the ziploc bag of ambrosia at me. "Now eat up, you hit your head pretty hard, and you hit it twice."
I shook my head, "I'm fine, I heal fast, and I had some water already, it's practically almost healed." I didn't mention the fact that it was barely able to heal internal wounds. I handed it back to her, getting up and walking over to the chef of the night, Leo Valdez.
