I stood in the Temple of Jupiter Optimus Maximus, fiddling with my trident as I watched Octavian rip apart yet another stuffed animal, this one being a koala.
"I still don't understand why you stab cute ones," I muttered, leaning against my weapon with a pout on my lips. "Why not those ugly ones, like the uhh—the shit emoji?"
He shot me an annoyed look, though I knew it was all in good nature. "They don't sell that in New Rome stores."
I hummed, nodding my head. "Next quest I'll steal one for you, yeah?" He rolled his eyes.
"My stuffed animals here are perfectly fine, thank you." He huffed, tearing another one for his augury. "Now be quiet, I need peace."
"Teddy bear murderer." I coughed out, ignoring the glare he shot me. "Any upcoming danger?"
Octavian muttered to himself, no doubt seeing or hearing things that weren't there. I think that there might be something wrong with him—"Aha!" He suddenly exclaimed, caught me to jump as he turned around with a glint in his eyes. "Nothing in the near future!"
My eye twitched. "Was there a reason to react like that—"
"Thought I'd find you here." Another voice rang out, and both mine and Octavian's heads snapped towards the temple entrance. My eyes widened once I saw who it was.
"Billy? What are you doing here?" I asked, standing up straight.
He chuckled, fiddling with the snake ring on his finger. "You know, just because we're supposed to protect Camp doesn't mean you have to spend so much time here."
I stuck my tongue out at that, grinning. "I like bothering Octavian."
"Of course you do—" Octavian grumbled, opening his mouth to no doubt insult me before being cut off by Billy.
"Now come on, quit fighting would you?" Billy groaned, but there was a smile on his lips. "Go take a break kids, let's get ice cream. My treat."
Me and Octavian took a break, following the son of Bellona as the world faded to black.
